DECEMBER!!

November is over and all I can say is ‘Thank goodness’
When Slicko indicated he was not going to play the WR/WM this month I thought this might be my last chance to win a month. Alas, J3px thought the same!
Between us we probably each averaged 15 hours a day; but for the first time for a long while I was actually able to play every day, and I built up an early lead – only to see j3px come back at me…every day!
I’d like to congratulate him on a sterling effort and to announce I plan not to compete in this marathon any more. Until the next time….
I'm sure he will be jiust as happy to turn on the computer and see me missing as I will be to see him absent.

Sounds like a blast Barry! Slicko took a break on another month, and Alaska420 and I competed for first. Think we played about the same 15-16 hours a day, one of the funnest months I've had on Sploofus. He might've won had he not been called in to his cab company last minute during an ice storm. Don't hear much from him anymore, miss that guy, fun to compete against. Then, I was so wore out I almost quit playing.

Was as much fun watching you guys battle it out as it was playing. Congrats Barry on a hard fought and well deserved win over a very worthy opponent. And Jeremy I remember that month you referred to quite well. It was like watching two prize fighters slug it out in a match that went down to the final bell.

Okay...that's it...I'm contacting Guinness World Records! Seriously, I checked the site and as one would expect, a category for games exists, and not just for video games. I couldn't find anything remotely related to word rounds, but did find other word game records, ie., Word Search, but it seems GWR is open to other possibilities within the category.

The GWR website states - "Please note that the featured records on these pages are only a tiny percentage of the records on the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ records database. If you are interested in attempting a record that is not featured here, please register and submit an application."

So wadda' ya think...one never knows until one tries, right? You can invite a WGR Adjudicator to attend your record attempt (see website http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/ for details Oh, and just as a side note, there is a category that might fit perfectly - World's record for oldest gamers. Ha, ha...not to worry...the oldest on record is 80 years old!!!

15 hours a day!!!!! There are residential facilities for guys like you. And it always sounds as if you have a life, too. 15 hours. Cannot wrap my head around that.

Alice

Lets be fair
Not 15 hours a day; 15 hours in which we spent 5 minutes of each hour playing (well sometimes 10 maybe 15 minutes),

So insane yes...but not that insane.
Of course then you get the WP time too, so it all adds up.

So, does this mean you've been downgraded to out-patient care?

I tried my hand on word rounds and it is HARD. I am not fast enough but it is fun!
