I just finished a Word Round. Check out this question & Answer:

A daybook; a journal.
ANSWER - Diurnal

This just in from
"A book containing all the offices for the daily canonical hours of prayer except matins.
A diary or journal.
A daily newspaper.

Some of them are bizarre which is why I cultivated the skill of putting a definition verbtim into a search engine and almost always finding it somewhere.
That's mild compared to some, I think.

I agree that it's tough - but the higher the ratio of hard to easy, the fairer the competition is to those without broadband. My load-time is great - but I know some on dial-up take on average 20-30 seconds, I have normally finished the wordround by then.

I think Sploofus should move away from pure speed towards harder questions. Just my tupennywuth

True, but one of the options was the word JOURNAL

Ah. Yes, I've been seeing more and more choices very similar to one another, but that one is then, rather biased.
I'm not sure how Word Round questions and choices are constructed although I get the impression that it's fairly random. I do notice that there are quite a few typos and misspellings. Perhaps they need some editing too.

I hate to agree with Phil, ( really I do) but it is becoming a frequent thing. It's all about the challenge of the game so thumbs up!

I like it when they give you the same answer to choose from on two different lines. That kind of settles it. But I really like the fact that they now give you the right answer so you can know what you missed.

I had a good one today:

A burden in popular songs.
ANSWER - Dildo

Huh? That's not a definition of "dildo" I've ever heard of. At least, not in any of the popular songs *I* listen to.

Here you go:
I'm leaving out the first definition. I believe it's one most of us know. the other definitions are as follows:
Dildo \Dil"do\, n.
A burden in popular songs. [Obs.]

Delicate burthens of dildos and fadings. --Shak.
Dildo \Dil"do\, n. (Bot.)
A columnar cactaceous plant of the West Indies (Cereus

Oh, cool! Thanks, Diane.

Now I know how I can use that word in polite conversation.
