That's fun. I wish I could make ones that pretty for real. I'm not that good at it in real life.

Ah...Bev? I didn't understand it. As beautiful as the site is...I couldn't find anywhere that gave instructions on how to access whatever it is I would need to do. What I could tell though is there were 8,723 "flakes" online.... Can you "splain it me"?

Thanks Bev. If you hadn't posted this site, I was going to.

For those of you who are new to the site, it is like cutting paper snowflakes, but electronically. So far viewers have produced almost 9 million snowflakes, which you can view, search or add to.

To view: Move you cursor over a snowflake as it falls, and it will enlarge to show its detail.

To search: Go to the "Find-a-Flake" link on the left. Type in a name and it will search the database for any by that person. To view mine, enter "Michael" or "Ann Onymus" in the name block, or "Carcassonne" in the location block. (Each year before Christmas I taught my geometry classes how to fold and cut paper snowflakes as an exercise in symmetry and proportion, so when this electronic site began, I was quickly hooked.)

To create your own: Click on the "Create your own SNOWFLAKE" link on the middle at the bottom. You will see the paper fold itself and a pair of scissors clips off the end. Guide your cursor with your mouse to remove material. It takes just a little practice, and when you are finished, click "Done." You'll be asked if you want to add your name and/or location, but you can decline. There is no registration unless you want to.

OK, get flaky!

Oh thanks Bev, it's really addictive to click on the flakes and see what people did...and to do your own. Yikes, just what we need in this busy season...another addiction! Well, it snowed here for the first time yesterday, so it's appropriate LOL. Ann

Snow?!? Lucky you...snow is a good thing, in moderation of course! Thank you for the post Bev! I've sent this out to family and friends...it's only right, I can't be the only one addicted! Your explanation is appreciated Michael! Thank you!

Thanks for the follow-up explanation, Michael.......very remiss of me not to have done that!

I have dedicated quite a lot of snowflakes already.....just hover your mouse-arrow over each snowflake dot as it comes down........see what others have done.
It's really cool.
