Someone gave me some fresh back strap venison. I am marinating it in balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil...for 24 hours. After that, there are scads of recipes but if you have one that is to die for, would you please share it?

In the crock pot with barbecue sauce is very good. Grilled is good, too. It's not as good as armadillo or possum, but tasty none the less.

We had venison stew at a church dinner last week and it was fabulous. I wish I had the recipe to share with you, but it appeared to have been prepared in a crock pot much as one would a beef stew.

Well I was just in the woods, last week, dragging back a nice big doe, that is at the butchers now, what a day that was......

And now for the rest of the story.....
My son, is an avid hunter and spent many days in the woods, the past week or so (he is just happy to be in the woods, hunting or otherwise) After a long cold morning, he got a really big doe, deep in the woods..... when he got back into phone range, he called me, asking me to bring him water, as he was completely out.... so I drove to where his truck was, walked back down a trail, and found him.... about 100 yards from the road........ he drank the container of water in one gulp and then I helped him carry the deer to his truck. I got to wear an orange hat and everything.
So now, I tell people, I was deer hunting and I try not to mention that immediately on arriving home, I stripped and threw all my clothes, jacket and gloves in the washer as I had deer ickiness on me.
So when it comes back from the butcher, I will be using your recipes too!

I ended up grilling the was great. My only advice is don't overcook it. Venison stays red even when it it done. We cooked to 150 but should have stopped at 140.
