PRAY FOR ROWLANDA
"My Leukemia has come back after only months of Remission....and so as soon as
they have a bed for me at the Hospital, I will go back in."
She has been taking care of her Mom while suffering her own battles. Sploofus is a comfort.

Thanks for posting Jim. Rowlanda has been battling this horrible disease and now dealing with a disheartening setback. She has been such a faithful friend to keep up with the progress made by my mom since her heart attack. We're about the same age and both take care of our mom's who are in their late 80's. I am exhausted and I can't for the life of me know how Row has been able to do what she's done. Honestly, if not for her and another dear Sploofus friend I would have probably felt pretty lonely during this ordeal. I guess that's really what "Sploofus family" means on this site. Please keep Rowlanda in your hearts and prayers. Love you Row.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes, and Jim, Cindy and Deedee
for your continuing Love and Support. Every day Jim sends me LOADS
of jokes to cheer me up - he never forgets me....
Over the past few weeks I've been making up my mind whether to try
again. I've talked to several people who were my caregivers at the
Hospital last time....and they seem to be very optomistic about the
outcome. Guess they know how stubborn I can be....
And Pat - I have someone to stay in my home and look after my two
beloved Pugs. Couldn't bear to lose another dog, as happened last time....
Will try to stay on Sploofus - but if I lose my skin like last time, there'll
be blood inside the keyboard

All the very best things that can be wished are being wished for you, dear lady. Keep fighting!
My youngest sister was the caregiver in our family when Mom was old and sick. She can never be loved and thanked enough for all she did and all she put up with. Cindy and Row and anyone one else who is caring for a parent, you are a special breed apart, the quiet heroes of life. I respect you more than words can say.

Pull up your socks girlie and keep going. There's only one direction and that's forward. You've got more guts than anyone and will do just fine. I think of you often and will continue to do so. Write any time.

There is a misunderstanding I must correct....
My mother does not live with me...my sister put her into a Home while
I was still living in BC. Then she "got rid of" mother's home, car and
all her personal things....I hired a lawyer and appealed what she had done
but it didn't work. So mother has been in the Home with all the Alzeimers
patients for the last 4-5 years - and is scared to go out of the doors, because
she knows she has nowhere to go and has nothing of her own any more.
I used to go to see Mum every day, but lately I haven't been able to do
anything - every day. And since she boke her hip and her leg in 5 places,
Mum hasn't really been motivated to do anything. She understands that
I am sick and can't come to see her often - but now, she doesn't see and
could never hear very well....so basically has a very sedentary and (to her)
pointless life in a wheelchair.
Mother went from working full-time until she was 79 - to being a very busy
Deacon at her Church and a Volunteer at the Hospital - to being declared
Incompetent by my sister and her doctors. And having a Trustee appointed
who gives Mum a monthly "allowance"
Perhaps you can tell I am still angry and upset for my Mum - to be treated
like this, at the end of her life.
I often think how it could have been, if she had come to BC.as I had asked.
Thanks again folks, for all your encouragement and good wishes. You got
me through the last round of treatments....so please do your magic again!!!!
I do appreciate everything you do....for all the loving members of Sploofus..

I am so very sorry that you will be spending Christmas in the hospital. I'm glad you have a lap top so that you have your Sploofus family with you.
Heck, I need you for more of your pep talks that we have shared in PM's. I'm trying to hang on with infections until after Christmas for my family.
The antibiotics don't seem to be working and if I call my doctor, he will admit me, so depending on how these infections go, you and I may both be in the
hospital for Christmas. I always pay for private rooms but if you could be my room mate, I would love that.
I was so scared about chemo brain, but your pep talk helped me a lot. Instead of saying I'm having an early Sr. moment, your idea seemed more
funny because of the way you joked about it. In time, I'll just say, "must be that chemo brain working overtime" Ha Ha.
You have been an encouragment for me and for that, I thank you.
My prayers are with you and my heart is, as well. Keep up that stubburnness, it will help you get better!

Dear Rowlanda, you knew that I would first be concerned for you, but right behind that would be my concern for your sweet dogs!
I'm glad you have someone who will keep them at home. They will miss you but the stress will be less on them if they can be in familiar surroundings.
Please keep us informed as to when you'll be going into the hospital and how things are going. You know we'll be praying and sending loving thoughts your direction.
