Suggestion.....rent a car in Burlington, drive to Albany NY and take southwest right to New Orleans! Lots of people in VT use the Albany airport. Southwest has availability on these flights tomorrow and Albany got no snow!

I heard DC is "snowed in" so renting a car there
doesn't seem like a good idea....

Too late for the Albany suggestion, but I'll remember it in future. Albany is only about one hour further from Montreal by car than Burlington, and a direct flight sounds marvelous to me right now. Or a Star Trek transporter, or something.

After missing my connection in DC last night (we took off 2 hours late from Burlington because of crew problems), I heard through the grapevine that the soonest any seats were available to get to New Orleans from Dulles Airport would be Christmas morning, 6 AM. Consequently, I gave up and rented a car. Am now cooling my heels in Norcross, GA, just outside of Atlanta, and should be home before sunset tomorrow. Then, I'll need to search for my luggage, which may still be stranded in DC, or may have made it on a later flight that had room for luggage but not for people.

Thanks to all who wrote.

P.S. The snow in northern Virginia was by far the most I've ever seen at any time of winter in my travels through there!

Hi honey! Cant wait to see you tomorrow. What a total drag.

Pastor David called and said your Chistmas bonus check as the organist for the church was in, so that's something to look forward to.

Don't forget, my mom comes in tomorrow evening.

Jim,
Sorry the suggestion was too late, but you can't beat Albany and Southwest! Prices are great and lots of flights everywhere. (no stock in company LOL) Most people from the Burlington area drive themselves to Albany to fly, have met many of them here. Wish there was a nice shuttle from Montreal to Albany though, but it's right down the northway, about 1 1/2 Led Zeppelin albums away.
I hate that Southwest isn't on any of the other plane sites like travelocity and such, so lots of people never think of it.
Hope you get home soon,
Ann

Jim is excited about the Albany idea from now on. As you all know, he has just placed his parents in assisted living in Montreal, so future trips (as an only child with no family backup) will be frequent for a number of years. Albany is super!

Thanks, all, for your support. He should be home tomorrow evening.....God willing and the stars in line.
