Wanted to quote from an email sent out at a local high school:

"On another note of kindness, I just wanted you to know how special our students are. A classmate on a bus did not have a winter coat, so the rest of the students on the bus took up a collection and bought a coat for the needy student. It just shows how special they are. The idea came to them and they acted on it to help out another human being. "

I like your thread. Too often there is a focus on the miscreants. There are a lot of really nice kids out there. I should know--I teach eighth grade.
Thanks for being so positive!

Very nice thread. Kids can be great..... this is a small thing but still... I attended my 11 year old nephews basketball game.... when I arrived, his brother who is 13, ran across the court to greet me, asked me if he could hang my coat up and then sat with his old aunt for the game.....sweet kid!
And our van was being towed as it had no brakes (nifty things, brakes), My best friends son, was on his way home, from college, for Christmas break, when he saw the tow truck, he stopped to see if I needed a ride anywhere...... great kids!

This is such a heart warming story.
Thank you very much for posting it.
Kids are just like everyone else in the stages of a life time.
There are many good, as there are some of the not-so-good.
I sent my 2 boys to Catholic School and even in that setting,
there were some not-so-good, but I believe that EVERY human
being has a lot of good in them. It just a matter of looking for that
part of people.

A heartwarming story. Unfortunately most of the time the bad things children learn they learn from their elders. But the opposite is also true. These children know that gift giving is far greater than gift receiving.
