I just did my third challenge from Muffinman101. The first two were stalemates. But dang, I got the third one correct in about 2 seconds. But the system said I either got it wrong or took too long! ARGH. So, Muffinman, enjoy your points. I'm disgusted.

I've had this happen three times. Very frustrating. Not worth a support ticket--the editors can't fix it. They can look at answers and times on your Question of the Day, but not on challenges.

I send a support ticket whenever a Showdown is mistimed.

You are then protected against a loss if your adversary also answers correctly but faster.

The problem of mis-timing is frustrating.

The Word Round/ Word Match "flukes" are the most obvious and prevalent example.

I wonder if the player's computer [and its power and speed capabilities] might be the major contributor to why the Sploofus timers are compromised. Any computer experts who can offer explanations are welcome to comment.

I'm getting connection timed-out at the end of quizzes so they are not registering that I took a quiz, or answers I gave are not registering and the scores are off. TQOD is slower than usual, not sure if it's a computer glitch on my end or a site thing.

I uninstalled programs I don't use any longer including Yahoo Messenger, and my Sploofus response time improved dramatically! Yahoo drags you down, I know.
