We will be doing the usual stay at home and try to stay awake thing. I thought I had "Inglorious Basterds" rented but missed out so I will watch my Netflix "Extract". Haven't gone out on NYE for the last 15 years and always enjoy it on New Years morning when I wake up with a clear head and mellow tummy. 3 drinks tonight,,,,,,tops.

Cheers and Happy New Year to all you folks who have tolerated tho 'Ol Curmudgeon" this past year.

Happy New Year to you too!

The cats and I will spend a quiet evening enjoying the last night with the Christmas tree. I have Angels and Demons to watch. I'll probably have some popcorn and enjoy a movie.

Drove 200 miles in a cold rain so my 86-yr-old aunt can spend New Years with my 82-yr-old mom. Saw 3 wrecks. Will watch whatever is on TV (weather channel looks nice, but I can't understand the plot), doze off, eat snacks, sample different wines and 'sparkling waters.' If I were home, I'd step outside and shoot off some fireworks, but I'm in the big city now, and they fine you for that.

I don't have a discriminating palate, so I go for the blackberry, strawberry, and cherry wines. All of the grape wines I've ever been able to afford, taste like vinegar. At least if I gargle before I swallow, it cuts down on my sore throats.

Happy New Year. May it be the best year so far for all of us, surpassed only by each succeeding year from now on.

Instead of having one wonderful grand son spend the night, I also have a new grand daughter spending the night. Logan is playing with his new wii that I got for him. Funny how a 2 1/2 year old has to teach his grandma how to use it! ha ha Isabelle is right here in her swing playing with all the gadgets that I got for her. How much nicer can a New Years eve get?

Happy New Year, Don, and all! Just staying home relaxing, and maybe watch the ball in Times Square drop if I'm still awake!

This will change with the New Year, since it link to the comic site, not a specific day. So if it isn't about New Year's Eve, that's why.

Wanted to go to a late afternoon movie (Avatar) then a quiet dinner but some light snow changed our plans. My mom is 88 and needed some groceries and a ride to get them. Too slippery for her to go on her own. She fell on Thanksgiving and broke her nose and got 18 stitches in her lip, poor dear! She wasn't ready to go until 3PM so it put the kibosh on our plans. Dinner at home, plenty of bowl games to watch and the movie will wait until tomorrow. It's all good...

Happy New Year, my friends. Hoping 2010 brings good things to us all.

At least I'm not the only one spending a quiet evening at home. I did get a marvelous present on Farmville, which put a great cap on the evening. Guess I have to go and watch that ball drop.

My nephew got married last night. The wedding and reception made a wonderful and memorable New Year's Eve celebration. We had a blast!

Went to see Avatar today. For anyone who who wants to see an entertaining and imaginative movie, this one is a must. It was an amazing movie. I loved it.

We just stayed in this year, but the best New Year's Eve party I ever went to was on December 2, 1999! I worked for a programming contracting firm and we all would be on duty for Y2K, so the company added a full New Year's Eve party to our regular holiday party! That part was a total surprise, and since many of us worked for a power control center, they had the lights go out in the middle of Auld Lang Syne, what a laugh!

Y2K!!! We had to have a complete manual back-up in case the world fell apart so that business could go on as usual! I had to go into work on January 1, '00 and test out all the systems to make sure "things were as they should be". Cracks me up looking back on it! If the computers didn't work...what else was going to work? Sheesh!

I was at an Elderhostel in Oakhurst, California and the most sensible NYE party ever. We arrived on Tuesday. Wednesday we had a bustrip to Yosemite National Park and enjoyed the snow and ground fog all morning then a beautifully bright sunshiney afternoon. The most enjoyable Yosemite Falls waterfall and Bridal Veil were magnificient. Back to our Conference Center before dark. NYE day we enjoyed lectures on geology and critters of the area as well as a hike of our premises covering the flora. That evening we partied sensibly, danced our sox off, had some ukulele playing, singing and instructing and enjoyed each other. I loved it. I will probably decide to do the same thing next year!
