I'm dying to know what the "WhereTHAI" was that was on an Island in Greece. I rarely play the WTAHI's because I have no hope of ever winning one, but I really did try on this one. Who figured it out? What was it?

Happy New Year!

The link given for Province House Canada is for the wrong province.

Instead of Province House (Nova Scotia), where the URL takes you, it should be Province House (Prince Edward Island), at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_House_(Prince_Edward_Island)

You'll have to add the trailing parenthesis yourself or click on the "Did you mean...?" error message when you get to Wikipedia.

Copy and pastes don't handle trailing parens correctly.

Calamari:

The Greek island WTHAI was Gortyn Crete Greece. On the WhereTHAI page, there's a link to a Wikipedia article for the town with a Wikimedia link near the end.

Here's a link for the mystery building:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gortyn_1.jpg

Ther is no further information on the building except the description "Gortyn, Crete, Greece".

I have guessed hundreds of "WTHAI"s and never put the country on the end. So why does Parc Guell need the country on the end to be correct? As far as I'm concerned I guessed this one correctly.

That was my puzzle. Joee, please accept my apologies for not including "Parc Guell" on the list. You are correct that it should have been listed by itself. Your account has been credited. Congrats!

The link given for St. Peter's Church, Bermuda takes you to some kind of MP3 audio download.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia article where the picture appears:

Congratulations to Jo on getting it in only two tiles!

Please note that typically the name of a country alone is not acceptable for a Where puzzle answer. An extra space on our answer list allowed "Canada" to be accepted on the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum puzzle. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

I just received this in my messages.

I have sent my apologies to beachbabe. I'm assuming she put a correct guess in before me but I rarely look at previous guesses.
I would also like to apologise to all the other sploofusers that i have cheated!

Not that I have any dog in this hunt, but I'm surprised that the "Interstate 95" guess was accepted for the Fort Lauderdale Skyline photo, as that guess would also apply to places nearly 2000 miles away (find similar picture replacing Lauderdale skyline with Portland Maine skyline!). I'd think that at least "Interstate 95 Florida" would be required, or better yet "South side of I-95 Broward Blvd. Interchange". But maybe that's just me.

I decided to just let this thread continue rather than creating a new one for the next quarter. Sorry I don't have time to keep it updated the way I used to!

Congratulations to all winners so far this year -- veterans and newcomers alike!

I hope you all enjoy hunting for the Who and WhereTHAI!

For those who are new to Sploofus or new to the WTHAI games, this thread (and others like it) is the place to post any sort of talk about the puzzles. Feel free to post tips, strategy, comments on your favorite puzzles, comments on your wins or near misses, cookie recipes , and so on.

At various times, tips have been posted in other threads, most recently here: http://www.sploofus.com/bbs_detail.sp?post=215130&cID=4

For the NELLIE TAYLOE ROSS WhoTHAI, the photo at Wikipedia didn't match the puzzle, so here's a link for that:

Happy hunting!

To the editors:

Sorry for my Support Ticket on the picture in Amsterdam. I Googled University of Amsterdam and the picture came up as #8 on the first screen. If you click on the picture and scroll down, it appears to be that same exact picture and under the picture, it has "University of Amsterdam". I was just so sure I was looking at the picture and couldn't understand why it wouldn't accept the answers, but I see the accepted answer which is a completely different name also looks like the picture.
