There IS no point...I'[ve lost a job before for the same reason. I lost another one to a lying, backstabbing LPN once, but they found out she was lying and I got it back. A better job than before. I truly hope they find out he/she is a liar and you get your job back or you find a better one. I hate liars, too!!!!!

And a Happy New Year to you too!!!!

Why do they always seem to pick this
time of the year to "let people go"????
Seems always as if they want to rub
salt into the wounds....
Everyone else is being encouraged to
spend LOTS of money, and don't worry,
Jolly Old Santa will be here soon.

Buchan....if you want to PM me....
maybe I can give you some help....

Look in Florida. It seems like the paper is full of ads for Nurses and Medically skilled folks. Probably to tend to the large amount of geezers located here.

LOL! Yeah, everybody retired to Florida and now they're in need of care! I wouldn't mind moving down there. There are alot of jobs listed down there. They don't pay LPN's to travel. They want RN's for that. Somebody told me one day this week that in the 60's you had to move from this state to get a job and that's the way it is now. But then the jobs were in automotive, steel and the big factories up north. It seems there isn't jobs much anywhere now. I wouldn't mind moving south. It's warmer. I keep hoping things will pick up here. Something drastic will have to change before that happens. Unless we become the United States of China before it does...

It's helpful when the state in which you practice is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact . Currently only about 1/2 of the states are a part of it.

Yeah, it is. I worked in Mississippi in 1995. Back then I had to get a MS license, too. From what I can understand, your license is good in any of the states that are a member. AL, GA, and FL aren't in it. I live about 20 minutes from the MS line, but my license doesn't cover MS. Only good in this one state. It'd be nice if all states were in it. Better for the institutions in the states, too. They could get more nurses that way.

I have a multi state license and I am only alittle over an hour from the Georgia state line and of course they aren't in the compact states...go figure! And they are begging for nurses there according to the Chattanooga paper. I think all states should do this...Maybe then I'd be able to find me a job!

Free Enterprise - not a bad economic system for the "haves.".
Busting unions has helped the wealthy to flourish, it appears. History repeats itself.

Hope everyone has found employment since this thread started.

If you move to Florida, bring an extra $500 dollars per automobile for you initial car tag. I love Florida. When the economy gets bad they merely raise the prices.

I have an opportunity to never having to work again, what do you think of that? I think it sounds great. Can't reveal my sources. thanks to all, kathy
