I play word rounds every hour that I'm on Sploofus. It amazes me how quickly some of my fellow sploofusers can get through the word round. I'm interested in knowing the secret cause the fastest I ever got 100% is around 28 seconds, and that doesn't happen very often. Come on somebody reveal your secret.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a cable connection, and the fastest I have ever done is around 29. There must be some speed readers with excellent hand eye coordination around. Anyhow, hats off to you all, masters of the word Have a good night all!

I think you have to have really fast hand-eye coordination, speed- reading ability, a good vocabulary, a fast connection, and mostly, LUCK! Not sure there is a secret. If so, I haven't learned it yet. My times range from 22 secs to 45 secs. And sometimes, a 28 sec time gets you a #1 and other times a #10. There are some really fast fingers around here! :D

Good luck

I've been playing so often that I'm starting to get really good at the scroll-click scroll-click process...

If everything aligns just right (meaning: short clues, obvious answers, a good connection, fast site, wheel mouse working well, kids quiet, had a good breakfast, sitting in my ergonomic chair, just had some extra strong coffee, etc.) I can get in the low 20's. But that's few and far between as I mostly get somewhere in the 30's. What amazes me are the folks who can get in the low 20's (or better) on a consistent basis. I bow down to those WordRound Masters.

I'm wondering what point the timer starts. I know that the page says it is loading on my computer (with a cable connection) for about 3-10 seconds before the questions actually come up. If time is starting then, it's no wonder I have never score higher than 25 seconds. Twinboysmom- if you read this, give us your take... you always seem to have quick times!

I am not sure if I have the secret since there are many that consistently score above me. The timer does start as soon as you click the button to start a new round. I have a cable modem and there are many times where it takes 20-35 sec for my round to load. I think it just comes down to practice, good hand-eye coordination and quick reaction time for me. And like eskimba said, if my computer is loading quickly, the clues are short, my boys are not going crazy, I have had enough caffeine, times will go down to the low to mid 20's.

I have noticed recently, probably my bad luck or timing, that the load time is averaging around 20 - 30 seconds for me. What I find funny about the WordRounds is that I do better on my computer with dial up as opposed to the high speed.

I've never gotten a better time than about 40 secs! Could it be that I am on a Mac and sploofus is geared to PC's? I even tried once ignoring the right answer and just trying to click ANY answer and go as fast as I could to see what the best speed could possibly be...still over 30!

I lose 10 to 15 seconds while it is pulling up the screen. Test it by going straight to the last question, select one and submit. I believe your cable connection has everything to do with your speed.

How do you go to the last question?

Oh...DUH! I must have been staring at the computer screen for too long!
