Stay posted for a new discussion on politics that is hopefully less negative and hurtful to those involved, an idea proposed by Jeremy and welcomed by a number of us. Surely a group can debate, disagree and discuss ideology without adopting the cruel nature of such discussions characterized by those in TT.

I agree it will be nice to express an opinion without getting my head bit off! Or being told "you're wrong, Maureen". Thanks for letting me know about this! Back to football...

I don't know what nature these discussions will take, but your particular preference in politics is immaterial, we don't want one-sided,agree-all homogeneity. Just an opportunity to discuss in a civil manner, respecting one another's viewpoints. I don't consider myself Dem. or Rep., as I have said my views are centrist, I don't vote party-lines or embrace partisan policy. I believe we need two strong parties to balance each other out, bi-partisan cooperation would be wonderful, but is probably unlikely. I don't look at govt. as a panacea for all that ails our nation, I just want my govt. to honestly endeavor to serve the best interests of all it's people.....improbable actualities I know, but why is that too much to ask?

Because our present government is NOT about serving the people.

It's a corporate government. All about exploitation, not serving. But that's not new to mankind's history, perhaps better than kings and tyrants.
