Another winner. Thanks!

I disagree. One phrase was particularly troubling in that the final descriptor was neither relevant to the item, just not what one would expect after the preposition. Another just was not what one would call headline material for the subject.

Perhaps I should have gotten the other five phrases.

I lost out entirely on one phrase by getting 'recorded' and 'reported' confused on SARS.
Don't ask me how I could not have guessed a 'T' I'm still wondering that....

That concludes a never to be repeated run over the last five puzzles.
3 12th places in a row, missing out on the big bonuses
1 2nd place missing out on the kudos of winning
and 1 6th place missing out on the real top bonus and getting the little one instead.

The next puzzle is one I co-authored so no soup for me.

"February" killed me (assumed it would be a place name), but still a good puzzle.

February almost killed me too. I was looking for a place.

If the year had been 1848, I would write

"Gold discovered in California," not "Gold discovered in January."

Wouldn't you?

I would, I would! (Though, never having written a puzzle, I hesitate to criticize overmuch

Well, I just made the top 10 anyway and increased my lead over Barry.

"I lost out entirely on one phrase by getting 'recorded' and 'reported' confused on SARS."

I got "reported." But, sadly, both "diagnosed" and "confirmed" have the same number of letters.
