I'm having a great day. I just cooked steaks on the grill for a rather extravagant late breakfast. It's so much fun to grill outside in the winter. I'm just thumbing my nose at Mother Nature.

And, this morning I got personal best scores in both the WordRound and the Wordmatch (15.7 and 20.0 respectively). Those are *really* fast times for me, and definitely not flukes. It was a tough hour though, because you had to have a sub-19 second score to make the top 10. What a bunch of speedsters! Even with my fast scores, I got double 4th places.

So, chime in and tell us what you did that was different, fun or cooky. If you haven't done anything different, fun or cooky, please go do it and report back!

I'm not sure this qualifies but it is one of the craziest things I have ever tried. I just finished using a "neti pot" for the first time. Before you fall out of your chair it. I know several people that do this on a regular basis and say that it has worked wonders for them. I have a deviated septum and do NOT want to go the route of surgery. I am going to see if this alleviates some of the stuffiness that I seem to have. It was totally strange pouring a solution into your nose. I will report back later as to whether it has helped or not.

Nothing kooky at all - but I'm finally working on my scrapbook from my trip to Iceland, which I took over 2 years ago. AND of course, spent an hour on my Farm on Farmville.

Not exactly kooky, but not something you hear about often. A coal strip mine is getting closer to our house. We keep a calendar by the door and record the time and date every time they set off a blast which rattles our dishes (if we are home).

I just spent the afternoon transferring that data to a notebook in case we ever have to sue. In 2009, they shook our house 70 times!. And since my wife and I travel when we can, it's safe to say we missed quite a few blasts.

Hope your year was more peaceful.

I got a sudden burst of energy and I forced my 14 year old son to completely clean his room with me. I'm talking emptying closets and the dresser, bagging clothes for the Goodwill, completely washing all the linens, etc. The premise for all of this was because every time I walked into his room, I smelled something nasty. Typical for a teenage boy, but it was really grossing me out. I kept telling him to clean his room, he would half-ass it and say he couldn't find anything that stunk. So I said fine, we'll tear it apart. It turns out it was a backpack his dad had bought and used, then decided he didn't need so he gave it to Connor. It ended up under his bed. Seems Scott forgot some food in it. Anyway, not "fun" in the traditional sense but it sure is nice walking down the hall and not turning up my nose.

If I get really ambitious, I'm going to start packing for our trip. We'll see. We were supposed to go to the batting cages today but first Miss Rylee informed me she had an entire science packet due tomorrow, and then after she got it done, we called the facility and its closed today. Disappointed.

Neti pots rock!!

Nothing kooky today, but my 10-year-old decided to clean my home office while I napped. Now, that was nice!!

My sister-in-law is visiting so she and my wife went out. Had the house to myself so put on a new Genesis DVD that I got for Christmas and played it really really loud in surround sound. I think it shook some of the snow loose up on the roof.

I decided to dig back into taking quizzes, even though the pages still load very slowly. I took quite a few of Allena's and had a really good time with them. I especially like one titled, "Not Chinese". If any one wants a real fun quiz to take, I recommend that one. Oh, It's only fun if you are all by yourself and are sounding the words out loud. Hahaha

Hey Marsha, I use one of those things for the same, I watched the football games, satisfied with the results for today, not so with last night.........bummer game. Anyway, this isn't "kooky", but I went to breakfast at the Eagles Club (hubby was helping cook) and was sick when I got home.........second time this has happened to me, but I know it's not my husbands cooking that did it, cos he cooks at home alot.
