i am looking for info and anyone who has personal experience with a super pubic Foley catheter. i will have one inserted in a couple of weeks. i googled and found forums but most were men talking about their experiences but i need a woman's perspective. i would be grateful for any info...

I'm enclosing a link to a search I did.

I've taken care of a few suprapubic catheters. I don't know the specifics of why you're having it, but if you have to, you have to. In my experience, there was less urinary tract infections and it was easier to deal with, both for the patient and the nurse. Like one of the links says, it's cleaner. Suprapubic tells you it will be placed above the pubic area. Whether it's attached to a bag or capped off to allow you to drain your bladder when it's full, it's more convenient. I'm repeating myself, so I'll shut up, lol. Hope this helps! Here's another link.
