BOMBER ALERT

This is not the first time that I have brought this topic up but it upsets me that some players give terrible ratings for perfectly good quizzes.
Some people spend hours writing quizzes for others to take, only for some miserable sod to make a nasty comment and give a poor rating on the quizzes

I think that people who give such poor ratings should be listed on a bomber alert page for all to see, maybe then they would stop doing it!
What do you think?

I turn the other cheek. If I write one its because I enjoy doing it. WPs, on the other hand....if we get an ugly response we really are hurt. Quizzes not so much.

Rub some dirt on it!

Me thinks you are 100% right. As the old saying goes 'If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' buchanan

Its listed on their profile page. If someone writes a nasty comment on one of my quizzes I go and check them out on their profile page. If that person consistently rates a quiz say as a 1 or 2 then it shows up as Bomber Alert on their page. If you don't look at people's profile pages then you don't see them.

I think they must be mean minded people, only looking on the bad side of things. I can understand if a quiz is poorly written, or facts are incorrect then a low score could be given, but not if the person taking the quiz scores badly or they simply don't like the questions!

I always check up on the person writing bad comments!

Sorry that you've experienced this, Equitriv!

Have enjoyed taking your quizzes, and understand how hurtful it can be when you experience negative feedback. Perhaps some folks don't understand how much effort goes into writing a quiz, and underappreciate the potential gravity of needlessly picky comments.

Anyway...good on ya! You write exceptional quizzes, and it's always a delight to take them. Please keep them coming!

Chances are this person does not author quizzes; on an average, rates a quiz below 5; and does NOT pay to play! You've written hundreds of excellent quizzes and most certainly, are a valued and respected contributor AND fellow Sploofuser!
Keep on doing what you're doing Judy and above all - DON'T LET THE TURKEYS GET YA' DOWN!!!!

They don't get me down anymore,I've been playing on here long enough to understand what type of people they are.
I'm more concerned that many of these players can and do get away with their nasty remarks.
You only know about their bad form if you see their profile page with bomber alert listed.
What I am saying that if these players consistently criticise or give unacceptable ratings then maybe there should be some public naming and shaming!

If Justin set the rating scale of 1 thru 9 why is using the lower end of the scale considered "bombing"? If 1 is not a valid score why does it appear as even a ranting option? I like to give a 1 to people I dislike. Is this Illegal? All NAS(ty)Car quizzes and those quizzes containing country music trivia command a 1.If in my opinion I rate a quiz a 1, then I become a bad person? Oh well. Go Figure. Whatever. Mostly kidding. Well sort of. My name is Felix and I am a Bomber...............................

You CAN give a one... but if its just because you don't like the topic or the questions or you do badly on the quiz, then in my opinion it is not okay. I have given low scores a couple of times, but there has been drastically something wrong with the quiz or lots of mistakes.
I'm talking about the people who rate every quiz they take as a 1 or 2.

I can think of one who bombs a quiz he bombs, even when warned of its difficulty. It makes me want to block that user.

Someone mentioned this, but I want to touch on it again. Most of the Bombers seem to be temporary members who use a free membership to play for a while. Many of them leave when they realize they're in over their head.

The general description of the bombers I've seen has been: Someone who scores poorly on a quiz and decides it's the author's fault, not their own ignorance of the subject.

I hope Felix is being facetious about bombing someone just because he doesn't like them (I feel pretty sure he is, but with Felix, I'm never sure.) But it does happen, even though I would hate to think we had that animosity here.

I'd like to see two protections in place; One is the Bomber alert list mentioned earlier, maybe as a perk of becoming an author. The other is to possibly limit the ability to rate quizzes to the paying membership.

I have given a few quizzes a "1" but I believe those quizzes were written in the early days of Sploofus before editing began. During the Geometry tournament, one of the quizzes had four wrong answers and another had three. I tried to contact the authors, but both had apparently moved on.

I try and go to their page if they leave nasty messages but then theres times I just delete them because I don't want the hassle. There are 2 that I have blocked and I've reported some. buchanan

I was just being honest. It's one of the few entertaining aspects of Sploofus. At least the Iditors despise me for just being me. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.......................
