SLEEP DEPRIVED....

So, I was standing in the kitchen, in front of the counter, where the toaster is. I found myself opening the cupboard above it, wondering why it hadn't beeped yet, surely the heat pack I had put in, should be done by now...... on retrospect, I find, that if you put heat packs in the microwave, rather than a cupboard, they heat faster. I'm just saying. MAN, am I loopy on no sleep. Surely I can't be the only one!

Well, a "friend" brushed her teeth with hydrocortisone cream recently.

Martina,
Why aren't you getting enough sleep?
Too many duties or just can't sleep?

I do NOT recommend spraying hair-spray on your underarms instead of spray deodorant............

I once found my tv remote in the cupboard next to the peanut butter.

Mom was put on a new pain medication, which she desparetly needed, it worked fantastic, the first day. I gave her the same sleeping med, I have given her for 6 weeks now. She was so snowed the next day, that I removed the pain patch, in effort to make her less lethargic. So at 2:30 this morning, she used the "I've fallen and can't get up button", to tell me that my Uncle Don had died. Which of course he did, 3 years ago. From then on she was up, yelling in pain, which is something she has never done before, so I put a new pain patch on her, and at 6:30 she went back to bed. I, of course have had a problem with not being able to sleep, so I take a pill myself at night, which miraculously, allows me to sleep, but still am easily arousable, in case my mother needs me, but I can't sleep during the day. Things seem more normal this evening, and I plan to be in bed early, so hopefully things will work out, as they always seem to do! Meanwhile, my son is keeping the sharp things away from me, and allowing me to only make decisions like, having vanilla caramel creamer in my coffee, instead of hazelnut!

I'm very sorry about your mom, Martina. I hope that you get some outside help so that you can have time for Martina.
I wish you a real good night sleep tonight and every night, now that you have figured things out with the meds. I-)

LOL, I have been doing that alot lately.... that and the "flight of ideas" cleaning, which means I get nothing done..... I put a load of clothes in the wash, and I see that the laundry detergent is almost empty which reminds me that I need to get denture cleaner for my mother, so I start to scrub the sink in her bathroom, but I stop, because I realize I can switch the nearly full bottle of hand soap for the nearly empty one in the kitchen, so I make a fresh pot of coffee, which when I open the cupboard that holds the coffee, reminds me that I need to check the pantry to see if the moths are all gone... and so on, and so on -- and of course, when I get back to the washer, I haven't pushed the start button... Amazing how busy I can be and not accomplish anything!

Martina, been there, done that with the "flight of ideas" cleaning, but never heard it had a name, thanks! Thought that was how everyone cleaned LOL? A good friend finally cured me with the "left turning mouse" cleaning method. Seriously, she cleaned starting anywhere, but always moving towards the left (well, depending on political persuasion you could go right). You could do anything within reach but couldn't leave the spot except by going left, and then not returning. Course you need big pockets!
More seriously, hope your situation is a little better today and your sleep the same.

Hang in there, Martina! I wish you a whole night of uninterrupted sleep for both yourself and your mother.

Everyone has a purpose on this Earth. One of yours is to make us all feel normal for doing the same crazy things! LOL

Take care!

Sleep, is indeed a wonderful thing! I have had 2 great nights in a row! So, someone, help me out, I need a new excuse for my scatterbrainedness (pretty sure I made that word up). I just spent a good 20 minutes searching for my glasses, which were perched atop of my head!

Blond or senior, Martina. I have searched for my cell phone more than once while on it.

I was peering in the afore mentioned cupboard, and realized that in my current fuzzy brained condition, I would be very wise, to move the Miralax out of the cupboard that contains, the Sweet and Low and coffee creamer, or my coffee is going to be much more interesting than just having OJ in it!
