PAINT BY NUMBER

I was extremely excited by this puzzle. I have actually seen all of my 5 (the originals in different countries)..........I still didn't set the world on fire...I never do but I thought this was extremely clever. I am hoping for more. Well done. Thanks.

Great puzzle -- one of my favorite ever, despite the typo and general feeling of stupidity. At least one of my puzzles was so hard that even googling would not help; a few others were far, far easier.

Oh the nasty spacebar! I was sure I had an answer right, and in only a few letters. Got the red screen. Checked my words; all were spelled correctly. Changed a word that could have gone another way. Red screen! I wound up putting in every letter. Finally saw that I had double-spaced between two words. Am I the only one that can't spell a space?

Gettable, but really tough, I thought, especially in the descriptions. I often knew the work several letters before I could get the rest of the puzzle.

Michael, develop your answers in WordPerfect. Spell check them and then paste them into the answer space ((Ctrl-V).

What an interesting puzzle! Just loved it.

Even after you figured out the subject of the phrase, the adjectives posed addl obstacles.

Hardly a surprise that the puzzle was superlative because the author is a true Sploofus Genie.

Kudos and thank you very much, my former editor.

And if I can stay in the top 5 until 8:15am, I'll only be 4,294,706,814 points behind Wheatpenny this month.

All around great puzzle - really enjoyed it on many different levels.
Was particularly happy to get "The Gross Clinic" for my third puzzle (and solved it with one letter). Had the privilege of seeing that painting every day for four years when I was a student at Jefferson. The painting has been sold to the Philadelphia Art Museum (something the alumni fiercely debated) and a replica now hangs in its place.
In front of the painting was a Steinway grand donated by the Philadelphia Orchestra. You could leave your ID with the guard at the front desk and play the piano in the evenings - served as a pleasant break from studying - and always with Dr. Gross looking down on you.
