The kid (not so much a kid any more) who is one of my "babies" and is to blame for me becoming a music teacher is up for his second Grammy tomorrow:

"True Blood has been recognized with a nomination for a Grammy Award in the area of Film/TV/Visual Media as best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television or Media. Gary Calamar, True Blood’s music supervisor produced the True Blood compilation which was released through Elektra/Atlantic Records. The True Blood soundtrack includes the show’s theme song ‘Bad Things’ by *******Jace Everett*******

The following are the nominees in this category:

* Cadillac Records (Various Artists) [Music World Music/Columbia]
* Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds(Various Artists) [A Band Apart/Warner Bros.]
* Slumdog Millionaire (Various Artists) [N.E.E.T./Interscope Records]
* True Blood (Various Artists) [Elektra]
* Twilight (Various Artists) [Summit Ent./Chop Shop/Atlantic]
The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, returns to Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, and will air live on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m."

Dang. That's quite a list of competitors! It really is an honor to be nominated with that group.

Good Luck, Jace!

(I hate the show, and "Bad Things" is not at the top of my list of favorite Jacey songs, but I'm absolutely his biggest fan - right after his mom, dad, and sister)

Sorry to mislead. He's not my son - he's one of my "kids" - former students.

He just wrote and said the grammy went to Slum Dog. But he's still going to the party!!! hahaha

It was an honor to be nominated and he lost to an outstanding soundtrack - congrats to you both.
But for the first time in the history of the Grammys, I own none of the albums nominated for album of the year. Up until about 1995 I usually had all 5 and for the past 15 years I've had at least 2 or 3 of them. This means one of two things: either the music that is out now is crap or I'm getting old.
Maybe both

( I don't know about the others - but the True Blood CD thing is crap. But that's just my opinion. But the theme, "Bad Things," is the best thing on the album - it was the #1 club song 3 years ago. Jace won a grammy co-writing a country best single with "Your Man," sung by Josh Turner. Sad, cause Josh is an amazing singer, but Jace is one of the best singers on earth. I have no idea why his record label forces him to hold back on recordings. His live shows are so much better, because he lets go and shows his stuff.)

I'm talking overall album of the year:
Dave Matthews
Lady Gaga
Black Eyed Peas
Taylor Swift

OK I like Taylor Swift - but the others PU
