I staged a showdown and won by default--the other player never responded. (And I did answer the question correctly, for a change!) The showdown ended over 24 hours ago, but it is still listed as "open" and the resulting points have not yet been added to my score. I'm worried because I have lost so many showdowns lately--I'm just not quick enough on the draw, and there is always a huge delay between the time I submit an answer and the time I get credited for it. But hey, my dial-up often fails in the middle of a quiz and by the time I get reconnected, my time is in the hundreds of seconds, so I'm used to that. I'd love to recoup some points when I actually DO win.

I submitted a support ticket to get credit for this showdown, but I don't have much faith in that. I have four support tickets pending, going back to the beginning of June, and no one has read them as far as I can tell.

Has this happened to anyone else? Trouble getting support, or trouble getting appropriate credit for showdown winnings?

Any support people trolling this site who might advise me? Thanks!

It takes a day or two to be credited. It will show up.

Its hard waiting though, isn't it? You've already bit your nails to the nub for a week.

I was like you. I had won one by default. Time had counted down to "0". It was about 11:00 p.m. at night. I was getting edgy about it and also wrote a post. I think it was probably late in the second day or maybe a little later. But sure enough, it was counted, and I received the notice. It had been awhile since I had staged a showdown so I had forgotten how long it took. Just hang in there.

I've got four support tickets pending that date back as far as February which I haven't gotten responses to. I'd open another ticket about it, but I don't want to wait until 2007 for a response to that.

This is one of the things that baffles me. The "7-day expiration" shows "Hours until deadline". Doesn't matter what time of the day I challenge, the hours until deadline always end at midnight, U.S. eastern time, the night before the end of 7-day period (assumming 24 hours in a day).

Maybe that's why it takes a day or two to get notified when you win by default. Maybe when the "Hours until deadline" says zero the challengee still has some hours to respond.

In any case, I get notified of the results of a default through my personal email, and not through Sploofus private messaging, like the other showdowns.

So, look for the points and watch your email!

Thanks everyone--what a great group of people here at Sploofus. I did get the credit, as you assured me I would. It helped recoup some of my reckless losses!
