JUST HEARD AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE ON THE RADIO

When you're weary, feeling small,
when tears are in your eyes, i will dry them all;
I'm on your side. when times get rough
and friends just can't be found,
like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.
like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.

When you're down and out,
when you're on the street, when evening falls so hard, I will comfort you.
I will take your part oh,
When darknes comes
and pain is all around,
like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.
like a bridge over trouble water I will lay me down.

Sail on silvergirl,
sail on by.
your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
Oh, if you need a friend I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind

This, in my humble opinion, is the best song ever written and recorded. I was sat in a hotel bar in Gander Canada with the rest of the flight crew I was on when I heard this for the first time. I liked it so much, it was on a Juke Box, that I went and put it on again, to be followed by all the other four of our RAF crew. It must have been about 1970, and I still think that Art Garfunkel sang the sweetest song ever, with Paul Simon on guitar.

My dad's favorite song. He always wanted me to play it on piano when I visited him. An amazing composition.

I played that song a lot. It's so reassuring.
