What's with the US costumes on the half-pike? Awesome sport but doesn't it look like the circus is in town? What's the deal?

Looks like jeans and flannel shirts to me. Which, it's not actually jeans: Maybe it's the Vancouver banner the participants wear that, combined with the already colorful tops of the team, make it look clownish.

Thanks for the link. Still wish they'd chosen a solid color top, or maybe a few color blocks.

What about the Canadian outfits for the Speed skating. That kind of dull worn out pink coloured rubberised part around their bottom area is tasteless.

I'll watch for that Steve, usually in speed skating I get so excited I forget the colors and who's who!

We assumed they were going for the skate(board)-rat look. At least we can't tell what color and kind of underwear they wore.

My nominee for "best-dressed Olympic team" has to be the Norwegian men's curling team:

As if the sport itself weren't bizarre enough...

Thanks Susyq, those are really funny, tho more like a pajama bottom design than clownish. I still think with the necessarily baggy shape and the lumberjack look, those 'boarders really look like actual circus clowns.

I wasn't crazy about the design of the Half-Pipe team's uniform either, but I warmed up to it as I watched them do their stuff. It fits the spirit of the sport.

I wonder how long it will take them to figure out that they're not very aerodynamic in those loose, floppy clothes? Ah yes, and like M48, I'm so glad that we didn't have to see the elastic of anyone's underwear.
