An editor stated that quiz queues are back up because of the community quiz launch. Will the community quiz catagory always be the priority? It's seems out of the 13,000+ members that such a small percentage wrote quizzes for it last time. How often will others be on the back burner? I am sure that I am just missing something here. No need to respond until you catch up. Thanks agian.

It wasn't an editor that suggested the community challenge quizzes would be holding things up for the rest, it was me. And that was only a suggestion, not a statement of fact.

The community challenge quizzes all need to be released together and a set date is given for them, so they have to be put through the system together.

However, there are only some thirty-odd challenge quizzes (judging by the thread on the subject in 'Salty Dog', and in another thread one of the editors pointed out that they released some 8,000 quizzes over the last 120 days, around 2,000 a month or 66 every single day, with only 17 editors doing them, so I hardly think 30-odd quizzes over a few days is going to make any real dent in the volume the editors cope with!

It's far more likely that the editors, like everybody else, were taking the bank holiday weekend to go away and/or spend times with their families, don't you think?

Please be patient and remember that the editors are people with real lives too!

I was only questioning the reason given by Sploofizz in another post. Vacations and Community Quizzes were the reasons he stated. Sorry that you got defensive. I thought this was a forum for questions.

It is a forum for questions - but questions spawn answers, as a general rule!

Anyway, if the challenge quizzes are getting in the way of yours, why don't you try the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" method and write a challenge quiz too?

Thanks for the kind offer, but the maverick never does line dancing.

Whilst other editors were dealing with the community quizzes, some of us whittled down the list of regular quizzes to keep them flowing...I edited and launched one of yours during that time Fenixfelix!

Sorry to put my tuppence in, but
Fenixfelix I noticed you haven't been a member too long and what i would say is you probably have been quite lucky that the quizzes you have authored have gone through so quickly. This is not me having a go by the way just pointing something out. Over the last month or so the amount of quizzes the editors have been flying through has been amazing. Since I have been a member there has been times when some quizzes have taken nearly a week to go through but in the last month it has been like a day.
What I'm thinking is that maybe you have put quizzes on that have gone through quickly and presume it is always like that.
The editors do do such a fantastic job as im sure you will appreciate, sometimes they fly through more quizzes than at other times.

Personally I find that the quizzes I launch on a friday tend to go through over the weekend but if i launch on the monday sometimes it isn't until the friday. So I suppose it is just your luck really.

Ok I have ranted enough for now. lol

Seems to me, with over 40,000 quizzes available, that's it's perfectly acceptable to have a few new ones "on the back burner" for a bit while the special monthly quiz event is going on. I think it's a good idea.
