I had a very brief e-mail from Rowlanda this morning - the first in weeks. The last I knew, she had entered the hospital New Year's Eve to begin aggressive treatment for her leukemia, which had returned. I am assuming she is still there as I have not heard otherwise.

I hope you will include Rowlanda in your prayers today and in the days ahead. I am sure she will appreciate them.

I'll certainly keep Rowlanda in my prayers and thoughts. She is missed.

Rowlanda only included a couple sentences - I've asked her for more information so I will have something more to include when I post her comments.

Right now just please remember Rowlanda in your prayers.

In Feb. 9 she sent me this:

"An 92 year old man went into the Drug Store for some viagra. "Can I have six tablets cut into quarters?" The pharmacist said, "A quarter tablet may not give you a full erection." He said, " I don't want an erection I just want it big enough so that I do not pee in my shoes."

I write her every day. I can keep us posted. Allena

My SINCERE prayers for Rowlanda. I'm quite sure she isn't crying wolf over something as bad as having cancer, as I have been accused of doing. Oh, how I wish so much that were true. I bet Rowlanda is wishing she doesn't have cancer, as I'm sure she is NOT having a picnic these past few months or years, either.
Keep up the fight, Rowlanda. I'm sure your family misses you, as you must miss them, as well. I light a candle for you every day in the chapel.
