GARLYNN'S ORPHAN WP

A "double treat" WP...the WP itself and figuring out the "gimmick" to solve it. I didn't catch on until my second WP, and after that the title and the clues made perfect sense.

I re-emphasize what Maurlin just said:
The key is figuring out the gimmick. Have fun.

Challenging and educating WP. Thanks, and I hope you write more in this format.

Calamari, your post was removed as it provided too much information about the currently running Word Puzzle. Please feel free to re-post the comment after the puzzle has ended.

You know, notwithstanding the fact that the "leave something out" puzzle has probably been milked for about all we can pull from it (cute title, though), it's not a good thing when you look at a string of letters and you still have no idea what exactly to stick in and where to make it some unfamiliar word. That was the problem for me with the monastery puzzle. Somebody's parent belonged in that pile of consonants, but I have no idea who and where.

Please explain! I never did so badly as I did at this one...had literally no idea what was going on, instead of figuring it out by the 2nd clue. Help.

Of course it was. I'm familiar with Pope Ocatepet I, but Popocatepetl's a little less famous.

Gee, I wish I'd had one of those. I started with two toughies and did the last three gimmies rather quickly.

Brilliant puzzle, Barry and Lynn. I love elimination puzzles and this was one of the very best!

(Still waiting for Beth to do ultramarine, but she's trying to learn the alphabet with hubby these days)

I enjoyed this one very much, though I suspect I might feel differently if I had had (Pop)ocatepetl first and Bag(dad) fifth instead of the other way around.

Barry,
Oy vey! From now on I'll only do wps when fully awake! It would have been fun too -- my bad.
