I promised I'd let you know when this was being broadcast. We recorded it back in November. The 2 cellists are in my orchestra and were 1st and 4th chair All-Region Orchestra.

Fort Worth, Texas – Six Fort Worth ISD high school choirs plus the District’s high school Honors Choir will be featured in the new public television special Celebrate America, produced by internationally-renowned composer Tim Janis. Celebrate America with Tim Janis airs at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 15 on KERA-TV.

Celebrate America features some 500 students from 14 North Texas high school music programs. Tim Janis and his staff selected the participating choirs and provided each group with a musical composition for rehearsal prior to the taping. The following North Texas high school choirs are featured in Celebrate America:

Woodrow Wilson High School (Dallas) Trinity High School (Euless)

Duncanville High School Grapevine High School

L.D. Bell High School (Hurst) Dunbar High School (Fort Worth)

Arlington Heights HS (Fort Worth) Paschal High School (Fort Worth)

O. D. Wyatt High School (Fort Worth) Southwest High School (Fort Worth)

W.T. White High School (Dallas) Arlington High School

Western Hills High School (Fort Worth) Fort Worth ISD High School Honor Choir

“The Fort Worth ISD choirs will each perform a song specially arranged by Mr. Janis for this broadcast,” said District Director of Choral and General Music Robert King. “The choirs were recorded at the KERA studios in Dallas on November 5, 2009.”

Composer Tim Janis has worked with some of the top artists in the music and entertainment business -- from Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, and Ray Charles, to George Clooney and James Earl Jones. Musician, conductor and arranger, Janis’ story is one of deep belief in the power of creating music that can heal and bring peace on a global level.

KERA is a not-for-profit public media organization that serves the people of North Texas. The station broadcasts to the fourth-largest population area in the United States.

Finally Janice,
That ugly dish that Tony has sitting in the middle of my property will come in handy for me. He has it for the NFL network for his Cowboy games if they are not on regualr TV. I'll have him record this for when I go home. Are there any shots of you going to be in it?

Hahaha - I hope he can get it!

Lord, no! I'm behind the cameras, beaming with pride. As far as I know, there were no sneak peeks at us standing at the back of the studio. The only teachers on camera are the choir directors. Tim directed the orchestra himself.

Congrats! I'm nowhere near your viewing area, but I sure would be tuning in if I were.

Oh my God. How glorious! I wonder what the Guinness Book of World Records has as the record for a human having chill bumps the longest?

There's a C&W song title that fits me right now: "I Feel Sorry For Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight"

They're going to put it on youtube later for anyone who wants to watch and see what I mean.

I love Texas and I love my kids - and all the kids who performed! They did their schools and their families proud!

Congratulations, Janice - I know you're proud - and deservedly so. But I'll bet the last 4 months waiting has seemed like 4 centuries

Be sure to let us know when it's on YouTube - I'd love to see it.
