Justin, numerous times I have taken the QOTD, answered it correctly only to have it time
out. Not acceptable. I timed out AGAIN this morning and I have had enough! This is just
one of many areas within Sploofus that are in need of attention since the chaotic 'upgrade'.

Sploofus has many ongoing issues (that you created), issues that you have said you'd
address on numerous occassions, Here it is, 6 months into this 'upgrade' and we are still
waiting for you to fulfill those promises and obligations. How sad!

Please, stop turning a blind eye to our concerns, stop lying to us and fix the friggin issues
you created! Please!

Yes, I've had this happen to me, also - the last time was just yesterday, in fact. And it is quite a nuisance. However, I also think Justin deserves a break here. This was a major upgrade; performance problems such as this are amongst the hardest of all to find, and Justin has been through a lot lately.

I am sure he still cares.

All you have to do is send a Support Ticket to Sploofus Admin, and if you answered the question correctly they will credit it accordingly. It happened to me a few months ago, and Sploofus Admin. always responded very quickly and professionally and resolved the problem. I hope this has helped.

This may or may not be a solution, it worked for me a couple of times, though. I was getting the "Internet Explorer cannot display website" message, a few times with TOQD but it was also happening on other sites, like Farmville. I called the cable company, and they recommended, unplugging, the router, for about a minute. It worked, why is beyond me, can you imagine, calling your mechanic and having him tell you to restart your car to fix it? The performance DID improve though.

I did put in a ticket, which has now been resolved -- to a
degree I didn't quite expect. The Sploofus Support Team
does work! Thanks.

Penn, I'll give your suggestion a try.

It doesn't do much for my confidence in trying another
wager any time soon, however. If it's any consolation
maybe there were warning signs. Many of you have
probably experienced this, but for those who haven't:

Pages were slow to load, and I noticed when I initially
called up the question, the page never fully loaded--the
little icon on the top of the browser page never stopped
spinning. I backed out at that point, clicked a couple of
other pages to see if things were working and they came
up OK, so I went back to the question page, clicked in
the box to make my wager, the next page came up OK
so I hit the "bet the max" button then hit the question

Nothing happened for a few seconds. For a second I
considered backing out again, but knew I would lose
everything if I did that. The page then went white for at
least 30 seconds. When the question did come up, the
timer was at the top and looked OK. But though I
answered the question in about five seconds, I was
informed I had run out of time.

Seeing the initial slowness, I would not have normally
risked the wager, but I had a vocabulary question that
was expiring today. Stupid I realize. I'm impatient.

I'm sure people have mentioned this before, but my Sploofus tech issues have virtually disappeared since I started using Firefox instead of IE months ago. I can't remember the last time I had to send in a support ticket--even during the couple of times I've lost Internet access in the middle of a WP. To my amazement, the puzzle hung with me during the "blackout" and could be submitted as usual once I got back online.

When that's happened to me in the past, there usually were no telltale signs or warnings. It just happens and it's not your fault.

In a few weeks, maybe a year or two, the edge starts to wear off of your pain and you start wagering again. And you realize glitches happen.

I use Firefox and it does the same thing - just not as often.

Until the last 2 updates. They're RUINED Firefox, which now has the ability to crash and freeze just as often as IE!
