WHY BOTHER?

"There are 43 quizzes ahead of this one in the review queue."

Dont lose heart Vanya99 there has been times before when there was over 200 quizzes on the waiting list and the editors got through them. Hopefully things might change after the weekend

43 quizzes is nothing. I remember submitting when there were hundreds ahead of me, and waiting more than a week.

It's probably been asked here before but I'll do it again because I don't know the answer. Why is there not a daily limit on quizzes one writer can submit?

It sounds like there's a real ebb and flow to the submissions. Apparently, there are a couple of Sploofusers who are flooding the pipeline with quizzes which causes a very short time that theirs and other's quizzes remain on the most recent quiz list (the list that gets the most face time with quiz takers.)

True, there are a variety of ways to find quizzes to take, but most people look at the Most Recent Quiz list first to see what's fresh out there.

I stopped writing quizzes about 2 years ago, but I know how much effort it can take to produce one really good well-written quiz you're proud of. Everyone has different motivations to write quizzes, but most quiz writers hope some (well, let's be honest...many) people will take their quiz. It's like a validation of the work you've put in.

Until the rules change, you have to live with the the current flood, wait until the prolific writers slow down or get bored, or take a sabbatical and come back later when your quiz can have some "feature" time on the Most Recent Quiz list.

IMHO Anyone who hogs the pipeline reduces the quality of product on Sploofus. I think that's why the rule of Platinum Word Puzzle writers seems fair. You can submit a Word Puzzle, but you can't submit a second Word Puzzle, until your prior Word Puzzle has been launched.

Maybe Gerdie and Frankie are just having a burst of enthusiasm or have got a few spare hours to write quizzes? Why criticize people for actually taking the time to write quizzes? Isn't that what Sploofus is all about?

Silly rabbit! Criticizing people is what Sploofus is all about.

Would someone please get Aristotle a copy of the handbook?

I think the reason they don't limit the number you can write is that one of the things you get by upgrading is unlimited quiz writing? It would be ideal to return the dropdown thingie that would show the writer's most recent quizzes. Five, I think it was, but why couldn't it be 10?

We have unlimited word puzzles, too.

Except that's unlimited as long as it's just 2 a day.

Who says complaining doesn't help? My quiz has been atop the most recent list for 3 hours. I don't know why but thanks, Sploofus!

AS long as I'm complaining... the most recent quizzes list says 71 people have taken my quiz. My sploofus says 62, and the leaderboard lists 61 people. Having gotten zero on a quiz before, I didn't show up on the leaderboard at all. Does that explain the discrepancy?

That, and people who start and don't finish, or get a glitch that says they took it before or it doesn't exist. I've had all those happen at one time or another.

Grasshopper/Aristotle, you have learned much in a short time, my child. I weep with pride.

Now if you could just do something about your hair and posture...

I should add I appreciate that the quiz results now show the wrong answers given! For quiz authors too. Thanks, Sploofus!

No, that's only the political b & b. The rest stays here on Salty Dog!

I wasn't aware of the limit you mention, Pepperdoc. I have a platinum membership and tonight I submitted 10 quizzes at more or less one time. So If I can't submit a second one until the first is launched, how was I able to submit ten?

Hi, Nancy, the limit is for Word Puzzles, not regular quizzes. I don't think there is a limit to the number of quizzes you can write or submit as a Platinum member. That may also hold true for Gold membership. I think there is a limit, however, if you are a non-paying member.

Just a reminder to Vanya and other players: The number of quizzes you see in the message as being ahead of you may be larger than the number of quizzes that are actually ahead of you waiting to be reviewed. This is because that number also includes quizzes that have been returned and resubmitted, which go back directly to the editor who first reviewed them.

Right now, for example, 22 quizzes are awaiting editors' attention, so a new quiz submitted would generate a message saying there were 22 quizzes ahead of yours. However, 17 of those 22 quizzes are resubmissions, so in reality the editors not responsible for any of those 17 quizzes would only have to review 5 quizzes before yours would be brought up.

Great posts, one and all! Got a lot of questions answered without asking any. Good day and happy Sploofusing!
