Some pretty good mindless quizzes out there. Carreau is excelling himself. He is going through the alphabet!
Well done Carreau!

Please click on "View All Most Recent" for some good quizzes that got booted off too fast. Thank you.

Frankie and Gerdie were bad enough. This doesn't help.

Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Ditto. I won't take one of them.

I haven't done any mindless quizzes in awhile, but they can be fun. What's the problem here?

Looks like a backlash.

Mindless quizzes made a point! Who wants to spend a lot of time making up a really good quiz only to have it blown off the board in 5 minutes because of some players who are generating mindless quizzes! At least we named ours for what they were!

Working through the alphabet was a novel way of dealing with the subject. It was so original. Makes it more interesting than having to actually create a quiz using wqrds or cities all over the alphabet.

Wish I'd thought of it for my Mindless Elements quiz. I used the order that they appear in the tables.

Enjoy your point. I think it's mean.

Side note: Is there such a thing as a list of Editor's Award quizzes? I went to the quiz categories and couldn't find them. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I thought we were able to find quizzes that specifically received Editor's Awards. I guess there's no specific category listed on the Current Quiz page because categories are selected by quiz authors at the time each quiz is being made. Is there a way to find Editor Award quizzes in a list, not just a few randomly selected.?

It's on the homepage, Pep.

Looks like we posted together, Maurlin. Can't find an EA category.

Should be, huh?

I know some of you think that these quizzes are mean. But is it worse than one or two players putting up 15 - 20 quizzes each in one day?
We could each have written 5 quizzes and called them different things and no one would have been the wiser. At least we have been upfront by giving them a clear title. Do you think all of these writers enjoy writing that type of quiz?
I am not a person that likes to rock the boat, however, I and many others get really upset when we write good quizzes only to see them disappear within an hour or so.
What positive suggestions can you make (in this current situation) to help people who like to write quizzes?

Thanks, Smoke. I saw the random list, but I thought there was a separate one. In 1.0 they used to be listed by the editors who awarded them (I think) but I couldn't remember if there was a separate EA category. Guess not.

Eqitriv, I feel your pain. I don't know what good solution there is for a writer who crafts a well-written puzzle only to see it swept off the Most Recent quiz in a wind gust of submissions. If it were me, I'd lay low until the madness has passed and then start submitting again. But, I'm not a prolific quiz writer and haven't written one in about 2 years.

If you have a fan following, they will most likely be looking for your next submission and go to links that will take them to your list of quizzes. I know that's what I do when I want to take as many quizzes as I can from an author.

Thanks Pepperdoc,
I certainly have cut down, and will continue to do so and will write to Justin and ask him to see what he can do to alleviate the situation.
I don't mind having a restriction put on me for the number of quizzes I write and I'm platinum.
At least today we saw a variety of writers up on the page and that's a good thing!

Am I alone in realising this must all just be a humourous statement?

Yes, Judy, we did see some variety of authors. Flcyclist had a few as she was the last to post in the Mindless series. Frankie was not there. And only three from Gerdieducks. So that was refreshing. Maybe our little effort had the desired effect, but then Frankie is often absent on weekends.

I may even write one tonight.

"We could each have written 5 quizzes and called them different things and no one would have been the wiser."

Exactly. Then why all the fuss and feathers? If you'd all been writing instead of sulking over what someone else was doing, there would have been more of a mix on the list all along.

I often receive feedback from players who chose a quiz of mine from way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay back. I've gone back frequently and my quizzes are still being selected. My assumption is there are players who look for specific categories and of course, the Player Tournaments play a role. My first quiz is dated 5/30/07 and the last is dated 11/6/09, yet I am slotted at 51 today on the Quiz Author Leaderboard. Though I certainly enjoyed placing in the top ten for months on end, I think 51 is a respectable place to be, given the lack of new quizzes I've submitted. My mother always said, "the bigger they are the harder they fall."
