Moving forward from your first grade teacher, let's shake those cobwebs loose. Who was your first date? Please share any details you would like, such as your age at the time and where did you go?

My first date was to see an Elvis movie at the Cluster Theatre on Broadway in East Baltimore, with a neighbor boy and my two little sisters and baby brother, who sat in front of us and giggled because they knew we were kissing. I was 14 and my parents didn't know.

I took my first date to the State theater in Toledo and fell madly in love. Can't remember her name now though.

That would have been Andy, who took me to my first high school football game when I was 14. We went for pizza at Shaky's afterward. That was the first in a long string of broken curfew deadlines.

I was in 8th grade and I asked Arthur to the Job's Daughters formal dance. That's the only date I ever had with him.Which turned out to be a good thing, because in later years he became a drug smuggler I was told. He died when he was about 40 or 45 I think.

My first date was almost a total diaster! I was asked to the drive-in by a boy who lived just up the road from me. He showed horses quite alot back then and he came to pick me up in his truck that he used to haul his horses in! Trailer and all folks! He hadn't cleaned it out either! I can't remember the movie we saw but I'll never forget the smell...It hung on me and my clothes. Needless to say I took a shower and washed my clothes as soon as I got home. My mom and dad thought it was funny! I was 16 at the time...couldn't date until I was 16 by the way...Needless to say we never went out on another date but we are friends to this day..He married a friend of mine...I have had some doozies of some dates everyone! ROFL...

I was 13, and so was he. We went to a house party and played spin the bottle. We held pinkies...I was madly in love. Later that spring he broke up with me at my birthday party to "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to". Oh do I miss that music! He became a shoe salesman (honest) and I married a couple of MIT grads.

I did. But not for another 31 years.. He was my high school honey. Young love, young crazies. He went his way and I mine. Not really. He left for the service and I THOUGHT he never called or communicated again. I found out 27 or 28 years later that my mother hid every letter he sent me.. We married in 1994, 30 years after our senior prom. I will love him forever..

Thanks to all for your contributions. I was quite touched, to the point of tears for several reasons, but most likely because of what was then and what is now. Am I alone in this response?

As I think back over all of these years I know there are a few things I would like to change but then I wonder how much that would affet me being the person I am now. So I guess what was meant to be happened. charlotte
