"GARRYBL'S TIME TROUBLE" WP

Either Barry's made the 'gimmick' easier this time or I'm finally groking his approach. Cute, fun puzzle!

Congrats to those who "grokked". I was lost. Could have been the martini I had before taking the WP. LOL

I think you're correct about the double k. I decided after I hit Post that it should have been doubled.

I had to look it up. I was a little concerned about what Maurlin might be up to.

Very clever and good clues. For us, typical Barry.....two we got with no letters and two with the whole alphabet!!

Good one Barry

That was a "goodtime" puzzle indeed.
Looks like some surprisingly superb scores will be registered.

only one great score (and it wasnt mine).
Glad this went down well... I'm guessing my editor had his/her doubts

I also had a couple that I solved with no letters, and a couple that I struggled with. I'm thinking that one's score was somewhat dependent on the five you drew. In particular, there was one puzzle that I think will throw a curveball at a lot of players. That said, I sure enjoyed this WP.

I thought this puzzle was great fun - only wish it had been released on the day Daylight Savings went into effect. Thanks Barry!

Just curious, how many of you knew who Early (or Tardy in Barry's world) )Wynn was, and were familiar with his quote about knocking his grandmother off the plate? Being a baseball nerd, I figured that one out, but wondered how tough that would be for those not so interested in baseball.

Dave, I knew who Early Wynn was, but the tardy got me a bit confused til I remembered the quote. BUT I'm an old baseball fan, so maybe that doesn't help you. Ann

I'm **so** glad I didn't get that one. No clue who/what quote you're talking about.

We used to kid about what they would say at his funeral...would he be the "late Early Wynn"?

I'll let Barry explain the Early Wynn quote. In fact, Barry, I wouldn't mind seeing the whole set of very clever puzzles. Is that possible?

I included the early wynn reference, not to make the puzzle harder, but because
I could not find another 'time' word!!
I did know the quote about him knocking his grandma off the plate if she crowded it without needing
to look it up.
