Sounds like something off Monty Python Subject: Ship's Front Fell Off On August 19th, 2007, an oil tanker off the coast of Australia split in two, dumping 20,000 tons of crude oil into the sea. ... I don't think this is "real" but it is still funny.

Actually, not funny at all.

31 containers of ammonium nitrate dislodged from the deck during a cyclone went overboard, rupturing the fuel tanks as they scraped down the side of the vessel. Spilled 250 tonnes of oil. Cost the government $24 million to clean up. Beaches and sea birds drenched with oil. Volunteers spent weeks bagging the sand that was soaked with the oil and removing it.

Legal battles still waging.

Might sound and look funny, but believe me, not a joke at all.

I did not mean that the oil spill was funny........that is NEVER something to laugh about........but the politician had NO idea what he was even talking about. They are the same everywhere evidently. I did not intend this to be controversial. Please take it the way it was intended.

I agree with Marsha!

As an RSPB member & supporter of numerous wildlife organisations who is oft reduced to tears by the devastation and sight of oiled birds and other wildlife etc caused by disasters such as the Exxon Valdex oil spill, I am able to watch that video in the spirit in which it is intended!

Perhaps that is because I have worked with the police, in teaching and in a hospital - you need to be able to have a sense of humour about some of the worst situations to survive!

That was absolutely hysterical. I don't know who that man is, but he's definitely not a politician. It has to be from some sort of comedy show. The writing and timing were fabulous. I especially loved the "and no cardboard derivatives." Very funny

It was a humorous comedy sketch. Imagine a wave in the ocean causing the catastrophe.

As a reminder here is a link to the disaster Scrabq is talking about (which happened 18 months after this video):

and here is a link to the YouTube search for more videos by this pair:

Hilarious! It could have been a British politician.
