Just thought I would take one second to pontificate about my experiences here. For some gawd unknown reason, I have been given a voice (thank you...cause my membership expired and I was not know who you are).

About (cripes I don't know how long ago)...4/5 years ago...I'm old so my memory is pathetic. I had the FABULOUS opportunity to meet a BUNCH of "Sploofusers". They all came to Chicago, Ken, Koota (calamari ) Lodi (who stayed at my house, sight unseen), MB (nuther fave in my life) .I'm missing a BUNCH...but there are TONS of pictures.

THEN...I traveled to Philly, to meet Justin, Donna, Goddess, Jim, Jeannarie, Danny and LUV..(my love). It has been fabulous to meet such a diverse group of people. I am really honored and humbled.

THEN...Lodi (who is no longer here for OBVIOUS reasons)...had everyone over for the "Death Float".

I know that everyone here wasn't here for the "conventions"...but at one time, there was a really fabulous community that wanted to meet everyone and just have a great time...

To quote the Black Eyed Peas...and Justin Timberlake "Where is the love".

This SHOULD be a community of freaky Cliff Claven people who love trivia and want to learn something new...

I'm rambling..

Let me help refresh your memory... Chicago also had Jeannarie, Skag (Michelle) and son, Phred along with Katy, and your co-host Sblv.

When's the next one?

Your memory is better than mine...which is NOT saying a lot.

I enjoyed this site, even if I couldn't get the time off for the death float, and I enjoy it now. Not as much probably as I used to, but I still love it here. I certainly miss some of the best people who have left this site for greener pastures......

I still love Sploofus, though I don't spend as much time here as I once did.

I remember when the Chicago convention happened. I was quite new here, and I recall some of the posts and shouts. You guys sounded like you were having a blast!
I wanted so badly to go to the Philly convention, but it wasn't possible at the time.
It just seemed like so much more fun here then.

I would really like to go to a "convention" to meet other Sploofusers. Maybe another meeting would encourage more friendships and closer ties, at least a little like the good old days I keep hearing about. I know there are some really great people on Sploofus because I have met a number of them on the WPs. They are no longer just competitors, but friends as well.

I think that the next convention should be held somewhere in the South...Maybe Nashville or Atlanta? Even Chattanooga would be nice...

The Fall Bridge Nationals take place in Orlando. Over Thanksgiving week and the ten days later.
There are a number of bridge players who will be there. Maybe we should consider that as a site.

Yes to Orlando! Sploofus AND bridge. What could be better. Bravegator (daughter) and I were at the Philly gathering too, and it really was great.

Thanksgiving week will be hectic at my house and probably at others as well...Orlando would be nice but I was thinking maybe somewhere in between my house and there...Atlanta would be good...Nashville would be even better...LOL! I'm only three hours from Nashville depending on which way you go...

Orlando....I was thinking more in the area of Washington, opposite end of the country, I could probably afford to go to that, lol.

I originally found Sploofus in 2005 and became a Gold member the same day. I have met some truly amazing people on this site and even traveled to Chicago to meet the above-named Sploofusers. I missed Philly, but I did make the DeathFloat. Fred thought I was nuts to travel so far to meet people that I had met on the Internet. I'm so glad I did, because meeting my friends in person was a completely amazing experience. I've since traveled to other widespread locations to meet smaller groups of Sploofusers. Some day, I'll make it down to Oz and meet Bev/Bushyfox.

When I first joined Sploofus, I was a total Internet newbie. I had to ask things like, "What does LMAO mean? What is BRB???" It was so much fun to come here every night and laugh my butt off while chatting in the ShoutBox.

Thank you, my friends, for being so amazing.

I'm still sorry I was unable to make either the Chicago or the Philadelphia gathering. I have met a few Sploofusers in my journies, but it would be great to meet more.

My first was Kaufman, whose wife needed to be in NY on business. He tagged along, and we got to have lunch. Anyone else coming to NY??

I probably will try to get back to New York sometime this year, my nephew and his wife live there and I have promised my sister we will make the trip soon. I would love to have lunch with all of you New Yorkers if I get there. Don and I love meeting friends from Sploofus and sharing time together. FUN.

I'm "souther" than you, Alan

Airfares are cheaper now coz we are off-season, the weather is reasonably mild, the cyclones up north are almost done....the crocodiles *may* go into hibernation if we ask nicely, the redback spiders are busy knitting winter woollies, the snakes are off sulking someplace coz they did not get to bite anyone this summer.

We have golden days, cool nights, and autumn leaves a-plenty! Lotsa stuff still in flower......we get flowering trees all year 'round here.

.............................C'mon down!!.

Bev - After you sent that email of a spider catching a snake in its web - you seriously expect visitors?????

Now let me say this about that.

I never want to go to Florida again.

I live in a place that's warm AND pretty AND without mosquitoes.

It's a rare bug indeed that gets past our Orlando lizards -- they're fierce! Can honestly say that I've hardly had any mosquito bites here, and when I did it was in a wilderness area. Don't let the insects scare you away from Orlando!

I just got back from Orlando a week ago. Had a fine time, even though I was in a conference most of the time I was there.

I did, however, get to see a Nats spring training game Thursday evening. And the weather was great.

Even got to play a little NTN trivia Wednesday evening; I was going to play Friday evening also, but was way too tired.
