PUBLIC PROFILE

If a player does not have a public profile does that mean they are no longer active?

I believe that it means that they are no longer a member.

Soooo, does that mean that if you were by chance to come up behind somebody on the leaderboard who was no longer active,....and staged a challenge,....that you would automatically win?

Seems to me that one would only be able to challenge an active player,....even if that person were to just do the TQOTD and their weekly Word Puzzle.

Can anyone answer that?

Tim:

The last challenge I made was against an "active" player, i.e. he had a profile. Turns out, he was not active, meaning at the least he had not answered a TQOTD for many, many days.

Four or five days into the challenge he disappeared from the leader board!! When I went to check his profile again, I got the message "This user does not have a public profile available." I did get the challenge points after the week lapsed, even though he was no longer a member at the end.

On some thread somewhere, Sploofus said a member is deleted if he/she does not answer a TQOTD for some number of days (30? 60? I forgot).

Based on my experience, they do disappear from the leader boards but their quizzes live on.

Hmmmm, interesting.

Perhaps the leaderboard title should be changed from '500 Top Scoring Players of All Time', to '500 Top Scoring Active Members/Players'.

Not that it matters,...

They could have seen your challenge & decided to quit, rather than facing the humiliation of losing to you....

Once in a while I'll randomly click on a user from the "Now Playing" list at the bottom of the page. This evening it was irvingyaeger but it displayed a "No Public Profile" page. How could they have been logged in without a public profile?

That's a good one.

Maybe irvingyaeger signed on to close his account. I know your screen name stays on the NOW PLAYING board for a while, even after you log off.
