I'm gonna need someone to explain one of the phrases to me. I'm sure there wasnt a mistake -- I just dont understand it!
Otherwise a fun puzzle.

Fun to solve, but somehow I couldn't get to the meat of any of my 5 phrases. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Anyone get the Weird Al clue. What was that about?

My apologies. That one was probably too complex a story to fit into a word puzzle phrase. Weird Al Yankovic, a vegetarian, was asked how he could rationalize performing at a rib cook off. He said something to the effect of, "in the same way I rationalize playing at colleges even though I'm no longer a student."

I thought his reply was interesting, funny way to point out that you don't need to shut out rest of the world just because you don't currently agree on all things.

Hmmm; makes sense now if not at the time....

Bad enough to use "Mohandas" instead of the more familiar honorary title "Mahatma" when referring to Gandhi (unless I'm the only one who didn't know his first name?), but "begrudgingly" was just mean. Now I need a burger. With bacon.
