Do you want to speak to the boss or to the woman who knows what's going on?

Happy Administrative Professionals Day. That's what it says on my calendar.

Diva, I also use shorthand to take notes at meetings, during the sermon at church, etc. It's like riding a bicycle. Once you learn, the skill is always there. Sometimes I am foggy on certain words so I cheat on those and write a few letters to help me remember.

It's fun to go back to notes I took 10-15 years ago, and I can still read them.

To all of you Secretaries and Administrative professionals ... I hope your day was happy!

Shorthand is certainly a dying skill. I started taking Shorthand class in high school, but it took hours of practice. It interfered with basketball practice, so I gave it up. The only shorthand I remember is: @

Truly, though, a good secretary is worth his or her weight in gold.

It truly was for me - I received many beautiful flowering plants and a huge handmade card from the After School program kids where I work at the Community Center. It was a great day.
