Hi everybody. Wow I like this site. Thanks Mr. Sploofus for a gold trial membership I'm already thinking of becoming a paid member. However there some things I would like to know before I do that I browsed through all the recent posts and wondered...

1) Why are so many paid members leaving the site?
2) If I could author as many quizzes as I wish why are some members not happy with that fact?
3) If I could have unlimited tries at Wordrounds why are their only a handfull winning all the time, and at a time of 5.6sec wow that's
lightning fast

Well and then theirs Trivial Tangents... I don't think I will ever venture in there

Anyway for the sake of trivia this site is great

1) Paid membership is inexpensive, so it's not a huge loss of investment to pick up and leave. On the other hand, some people tire of the site, get other interests, have real-life events affect them, or just plain decide Sploofus isn't for them anymore. People quit or become inactive at every website. Just because a few are vocal about it here doesn't mean any real difference.

2) Many among us believe that the best way for the quiz they put hard work into to get exposure is for it to sit prominently on the "Most Recent Quizzes" list. When someone rushes out lots of quizzes, it may push theirs quickly off that list, and they resent it.

3) So you've become a WR addict already! I'll never be in the 5 second zone either, but even though you probably now think it's a herculean feat to finish in 30-40 seconds, you will get far better than you believe with practice. Especially if you decide to go Platinum, and essentially get to do as many as you want when you want.

Hope that helps,

About writing as many as you like: Some of us were angry at a couple of people who wrote interminable quizzes from lists. They showed no originality. Thankfully, one of them has ceased to contribute. His forte was top recordings of every year from the 1960s onwards - 200 recordings for each year, so that made 20 quizzes for each year, almost 1000 quizzes. Every question was "Who sang .......?" Sometimes there would only be 2 or 3 quizzes on the front page that were on a subject other than music.

But I am so glad you've become addicted. That may help some of the rest of us who are hooked - sharing the addiction is good.
