DON'T BE FOOLED.

I must have the word sucker tattooed on my forehead. It has been a long exhausting day. I hobbled across the street to beat the light. We can jay walk in my city. Got to the grocery store and was immediately helped my a nice young man the remainder of way . We sat down, the weather was fine, and exchanged pleasantries.
This young seemed so bright and ambitious. He said he'd just lost his in Tennessee and the guy he lived with lost their home.

So he now back here up North. He said he was hungry. I said, when was the last time you ate? He didn't wanna say. Why,I asked. Buddy, I said, you look like you could stand a good meal. After all, one good deed deserves another. I gave him a few bucks and said get yourself something to eat. We talked further. He excused himself and went to the pay phone. I didn't know they were still around. He came back st down and said he was trying to reach his friend who didn't answer. Later on he seemed very frustrated and headed toward the phone again.

I said oh here, use my cell phone. He said excuse me I'll be just a minute as he walked away. Well, after a few minutes he didn't come back. In fact, he didn't come back after about 45 minutes. I'm friendly with the security guard who had also been participating in the conversation from time to time. Unfortunately, the security got called off into the store. When the security guard returned I told him what happened. The security guard was taken aback. He too thought the young man was nice and wouldn't do such a heinous act.

The security guard went looking for him. We called the police and and filed a report. The policeman told me I shouldn't feel stupid; and the guy if found will probably have a record of usury, and other cons because he was so smooth.

The moral of this story is don't be fooled. My head is banging now; I have a heache. Will I do it again. I doubt it.

So sorry about your phone Bev. If anyone else says they're from Tennessee and lost their house and have already made it back up north then you better run 'cause if truth be known, their pants are surely on fire. Unless he had the money to fly up there this morning he didn't come from Tennessee. All flights from here were canceled and the airport just opened back up today and the interstates are still a mess, most being impassable all weekend. All the nice young people from Tennessee are out busting their butts and breaking their backs to rescue people from their homes, filling sandbags and volunteering to help feed displaced people. The human scum, as always, will most certainly begin to appear after the flood scum and debris has begun to settle and is no longer floating. There are always those that feed on human tragedy but right now everyone is just trying to make it the best they can. Again, so sorry about your phone and if you should run into him again, do me a favor and tell him there's a woman in Tennessee who wants to meet him.

Rat Bas****! How do these people look at themselves in the mirror? Bums and panhandlers with their smooth talk and operation. Sorry you were ripped off. Every dog has his day, you've got to believe that...

Make that two women in Tennessee that would like to meet him...It's people like him that give this state a bad name...and I'm really sorry about your phone. My oldest son Tim was at the firehall all weekend on standby and hoping that the bad weather didn't hit us like it did in Middle and West Tennessee. My prayers are with all my fellow Tennesseeans that were affected by this...I still have my 2x4 if you run into this young man again...

Thanks for the offer; Vickie. Sorry, It took so long to get back to you. If I was not afraid we'd go to jail for battery, I'd buy the gas and we beat him up.
I paid my $25 dedudictuble on line since I couldn't get through via phone. So they should be sending it soon.

Here's the deal. Once I get my new phone, the provider will send me a year of phone calls I made. I can't get pic or videos back though. Also the police will call the last calls made like they do on CSI and FBI FILES.
Once they make contact with some one who can put them in contact with his whereabouts, they'll lock him up. Yeah!!!!

I keep you guys informed. I'm hoping they really go after him.

The poor fellow probably came from a broken home. Hadn't been cuddled as a child. Or maybe he was laid off by a Heartless Corporation. Or the victim of ethnic or racial prejudice.

Either way The Man was keeping him down.

If you were smart, you would have lied and elevated it to the level of a hate crime, and they would have Homeland Security triangulate his first call from the cell tower data and drop a SWAT team on him.

Hmmmm is being dropped on by a Swat team a reward or a punishment?

The world's full of gits: I met one a couple of years ago, the daughter of a sick neighbour she was crying because her car was clamped and she had no money. I loaned her the money and she cried all over me - apparently I was her "fairy godmother" and she'd repay me asap. When, some weeks later, I rang the number she'd given me she was horrified: how did I expect her to pay that, she was on benefits? As a taxpayer I'm paying her benefits too! I did manage to restrain myself from punching her lights out at her mother's funeral.

Am I an idiot for being taken in? Probably. Would I do the same for someone else in trouble? Unfortunately I probably would! Despite all evidence to the contrary, I still believe in the basic goodness of people.
