PET STORE TRIPLES WP

Apart from my usual grumble about the mindlessness of triples in general, by my arithmetic one of my triples seemed to me to be a quadruple. Maybe there wasa combination I didnt see...?

Yeah there was one that looked like a quadruple. But it was a triple. Shouldn't have been worded that way.

And there was one component that completely wiped me out. I guess it's relevant to some folks (or their pets) but I sure didn't think of it until I used every letter to spell it out. My turn to draw the really tough one I guess.

I thought my choice was at least as good as the right one! Ugh.

My problem, although I don't expect anyone to believe it, was the electronic equivalent to "the dog ate my homework". There I was about to type in my answer for the first of the five, and along comes my monstrous dog wanting attention. Somehow he managed to snag the cord of the mouse with his tail and knock it to the floor. When I returned to the screen... not only was the WP gone, Sploofus was gone, and the browser was nowhere to be found!! So... the dog ate my WP!!

Now that was a hard one! I blew tons of letters on one of them, and I couldn't believe it that I actually did better than my gold standards - Daveguth and Garrybl. Course, Virtus hasn't taken it yet....

Ugh. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood...

The title sounded easier than it transpired to actually doing it, and although my 5,000 start-points melted away, it was still a fun puzzle.

so why did the clue about terrariums consist of three elements not four? Were there three apostrophes lurking?

I had that one too, Barry. I figured it was terrapin's terrariums. But that was my first phrase, and it sure threw me.

Yeah, I think it was a matter of a missing apostrophe. The word preceding "Terrariums" was "Terrapins." I'm assuming those weren't just any ordinary terrariums, they were "Terrapins' Terrariums'! (I thought about sending in a support ticket declaring this was a mistake, i.e., it should have been "Terrapin Terrariums," but decided that was slicing terrapin t**ds.)

The item that killed me was "worm tablets." Guess I don't go down that aisle of the pet store very much.

Bigbird, thanks for the kind words, but I think Mickeym and I got the same Pet Triples today. I liked two of my wrong answers

Like Dave, I had a bit of trouble with worm tablets. I wondered how work toilets fit in with dogs, but based on the letters I had at that time, it was my best fit. My screen and face turned red, of course.

Interesting puzzle!

I really got a chuckle out of the post above (duh, wish I could remember the poster's name!!!) about his dog's inadvertently 'unplugging' his computer. Sounds like something our cats would do. Thanks for the chuckle! woo
