One of the milestones of this puzzle was the second non-word this year.

And it cost me a top 5 finish.

Sorry, but that's the way it is.

The good side of this coin is that I have not encountered a serious editing error like this for several months now.

I enjoyed the puzzle; very Catholic selection of concepts.

I think I also had a non-word but it was a formation that was so obvious that it did not slow me down. Was that what happened to you?

Barry, if it's not in ANY dictionary, I can't find it.

Come to think of it, how can a non-word be obvious when you have 4 letters of 11?

Thought it was really cool. All mine had real words - interested to see what the unreal word was once the puzzle's done.

I note that "unmomentous" is in "Moby Dick," chapter 130:

But though his whole life was now become one watch on deck;
and though the Parsee's mystic watch was without intermission as his
own; yet these two never seemed to speak--one man to the
other--unless at long intervals some passing unmomentous matter made
it necessary.

I'll bet a dollar that "unmomentous" is a WR definition!

What would you prefer? Inmomentous? Nonmomentous? Amomentous? Antimomentous? Nomentous? Dadentous? Noncomposmentous? Larrymentous, Curlymentous or Shempmentous?

Unmomentous was certainly easy enough for me to work out in mid-puzzle. But that was indeed the word.

I didn't have much trouble with unmomentous, either.

But then I'm not smart enough to realize it isn't a real word!

I also had a puzzle with "unmomentous".

As I just typed it here- my spell checker dialogue box popped up. It allowed me to "add this word to dictionary,"'

I just did. It's okay to use it from now on.

Thanks a lot, Al. BTW be sure to add "folktune" as well.

FYI, Ken, I would have preferred a real word.

Sorry, guys, but even the Moby Dick usage did not get it admitted to a dictionary.

Cost: two letters and 500 WP points.
