UNANSWERED QUESTION ROUND ROBIN

Want to try a little game here?

Let's take turns posting the various questions that were never answered (and bothered you that they were never answered). Post (in this thread) only one 1-sentence question per post. And wait until until someone else posts before your next turn.

I'll start:

What was the ancient civilization/society/whatever that built the big statue and why did they do it?

What happened to Jack and Juliet's kid?

(Do I only get one?)

One at a time, Foogs. Post another now if you want. (That way folks keep checking back--though I'm afraid this idea may not get off the ground.)

What was the deal with Walt magically appearing after he had left the island?

Why were women on the island not able to come to full term when pregnant?

(This is a great idea, Dave. I can get some of this irritation out of my system.)

Why could Hurley see dead people, e.g., Charlie, after returning from the island?

Really early on when Sun took a pregnancy test (coincidentally a passenger had one in a bag), she and Kate were in a discussion and it slipped that Kate had taken a pregnancy test earlier in life (and I thought she said it was positive.) Nothing was ever mentioned about Kate having a baby or what happened to her pregnancy.

(I guess this is a question in the form of a statement.)

What the ****?

(Just kidding. I love this idea. I'll think about it and come back and post one later.)

Was the island really sunk at the bottom of the ocean OR was that part of the purgatory thing?

Looks like this thread may have never taken off. For good reason--there are losts of sites on the web with a list of unanswered questions. Just google "Unanswered Lost Questions" and you'll see what I mean.

And, as a friend of mine said to me yesterday, "Isn't it nice that the show is over and we don't have to keep wondering about all of this stuff?"

I disagree with your friend, respectfully. I can't stop wondering and complaining. Poor hubby has to listen to me gripe.

Personally, I think we all had better ideas about how the end should have gone than Lindelhof/Cuse did.

I think the main thing I'd like to have had answered was (boy, this is hard...I'm debating myself here) what exactly was Smokey and why did he need the candidates to be dead in order to leave the island and what exactly would have happened if he had escaped and why? I know that's not really one, but hey. I'm doing my best here.

I just don't buy the end. I think it was a cop-out and a way to "tie up" loose ends and get out of it. Still disappointed.

Why were the others bad, then good, then bad, then good, etc.?

Can anyone else tell that they really were flying by the seat of their pants? Especially from season 2 thru season 4? Season 5 and 6 seemed to be more purposeful, to an extent.

The thing that REALLY bugs me about the finale is that they act as if the first 5 seasons are irrelevant, and they only focused on the whole purgatory storyline. None of the flash sideways had ANYTHING to do with the first five seasons, Subsequently, they answered very few questions about the first 5 seasons.
