Hi all, just wandered when we take our puzzle, why do we get a point deducted for each right letter ? It makes me feel as if i am being punished for getting it right, lol.

As far as I know, you only get one deducted if you choose an incorrect letter. If it has happened to me before, I didn't catch it. That sounds like a losing battle if you get one point deducted for a correct letter. Maybe someone else will respong to this.

Guessing one letter is counted as one move. If you guess wrong, that's when you lose 100 points from the starting 5,000.

Wouldn't it be fun if there was a 'secret' letter in the puzzle, that if you guess it before solving, you get a bonus that subtracts 3 moves?

I must have dreamed that...

100 points are deducted for each wrong letter guessed. No points are deducted for correct letters guessed.

However, it costs one MOVE to guess any letter, right or wrong. It also costs one move to solve (or try to solve) the puzzle and one move to do a screen refresh. An incorrect solution costs an additional three moves. The number of moves determines your rank for a word puzzle with total time as a tie-breaker.

I haven't tried the screen refresh to see if it costs a move. Interesting. Thanks for the heads-up!
