I Always love AL's puzzles--they're Alarmingly fun with All sorts of Allusions to some of my favorite folks.

Thank you to everyone who posted for the positive comments about my "vanity' w.p.
I suppose there are enough famous "Al's" to do a second edition sometime in the future, so we'll see.
Here are all ten clues/phrases so you can check on what you might have missed.
Thanks to Sploofernatural for the editing support as usual.

ALVANDY's Als, Alans & Allens

alan hale jr played jonas grumby on the popular sitcom gilligans island ("Marooned Skipper")
in nineteen fifty four steve allen became the first tonight show host ("Man on the Street")
character actor al lewis played the lovable grandpa on the munsters ("Mockingbird Heights")
given her blessing weird al yankovic recorded the hilarious like a surgeon ("Song Parody a la Madonna")
allan shermans hello muddah hello fadduh spoofs summer camp life ("My Son the Nut")
woody allens annie hall won four oscars in nineteen seventy seven ("21 Oscar Nominations")
alan ladd starred as shane who killed jack palance in films climactic scene ("1953 Western Classic")
this was the occupation listed on gangster al capones business card ("Used Furniture Dealer?")
alan alda starred in same time next year with ellen burstyn ("M*A*S*H, West Wing, etc.")
character played by current us senator al franken on saturday night live ("Stuart Smalley")

Sorry I missed this one, Al!

I loved it also, Al. However, I thought the song was "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah". A quick Google search shows about 10,800 hits for "Fadduh" and about 27,800 hits for "Faddah". That cost me a pink screen and several letters (thinking my problem was somewhere else).

Sorry that a spelling discrepancy caused you to lose some moves. The spelling I used for "fadduh" is taken from the album "My Son the Nut."

Actually, I thought someone might complain that ALLAN was the spelling of Mr. Sherman's first name. I mentioned that possibility to my editor before the puzzle was launched.

Go figure!
