ANNOYING POP-UP SURVEY

Did anyone else have a pop-up "Sploofus Survey" block their TQOTD? I didn't even get to read the question before it was blocked by a pop-up window. I tried to close the window with the X, but was taken to the survey anyway. There appears to be no way out but to answer the questions -- so I did. I was then offered "free" products (NO THANK YOU), but by the time I could read and correctly answer the question, I had exceeded my 30-second time limit. I did submit a support ticket, and I'm sure the editors will give me the points -- that's not what I'm upset about. I thought one of the main privileges of paying membership was the elimination of annoying advertisements. If this continues, I will no longer be a member.

Grrr....I just got ANOTHER one. This one urged me (the "Lucky Sploofus User") to claim my "Free Laptop Computer." Again, I tried to close the pop-up and got taken to another site which said I had just 104 seconds to claim my prize. I closed that window, but it closed Sploofus as well. This may just be my last day on this site. Shame........I have spent a lot of hours here in the last several years.

That hasn't happened to me either. I agree with Kim that it may be your computer. Do you have automatic virus scans that stop incoming viruses?
However, if it happens to anyone else from Sploofus, I would guess that the web site may have a virus.
Let's hope that isn't the case.

Diane, it sure sounds like a virus on your computer. Do you get the popup on any other sites?

The first thing I would suggest would be for you to run a complete virus scan on your system.

Never had a popup during sploofus! I hope you use a good virus checker and also have a decent firewall. let us know what you find out!

Nope - never had that either. I remember a survey when I was still within the first month, but that was it. How terrible.

I don't remember there ever being a Sploofus Survey on the 2.0 Sploofus and definitely not a pop up on it. I don't ever remember it popping up in the old Sploofus.

Marilyn...

The most annoying thing was that it specifically said "Sploofus Survey" so I assumed it CAME from Sploofus. After those two times, it has not appeared again.

And, by the way, I did get the credit for my correct answer even though the survey made me exceed the time limit. Kudos to the editors for their help in that regard.

Never had a survey pop-up on Sploofus in 5 years. The surveys are always voluntary. You have to click on it. You get points for taking them. That idea seems reasonable to me as Justin does need feedback.
