They played an excellent series and deserved to win the Stanley Cup. I was pulling for my Flyers, but they were certainly the better team.

Well, it sure has been a long time.

I remember 1971 when they had the Canadiens down 3-2 and lost. Then in 1992 when the young Bulls were about to win their first title, I thought the Blackhawks would beat Pittsburgh. Wrong! Lost in four games. Dollar Bill Wirtz then ran the team into the ground. So dreadful they couldn't even fill the new United Center. In 2004 ESPN named them the worst pro sports franchise.

But when dad passed, son Rocky took over the team at the beginning of the 2007-08 season and he did everything his dad wouldn't - spending money for good players, putting the home games on TV, and making wise marketing arrangements as well. That's the way the Yankees do it, and in a big market all that works to your advantage. My son Elliot said you could atually watch hockey in Chicago again and it was even safe to buy Blackhawks tickets.

Congratulations to the Flyers who came from 7th place in the East to within a whisker of the Cup. With a better goalie they'd have won or still be playing. Stanley Cup hockey - it's the best!

One of the better playoff seasons for the NHL. So many exciting series. Now time to put the Zamboni away for a while.

Andy, we weren't even supposed to be there. Down 3-0 in a series, then came back to 3-3 only to be down on score 3-0 in the last game and still managed to pull it out. It was a great moment for fans here in Phila. I cannot complain about their loss, the Blackhawks were a better team. I am just glad we didn't lose in 4.

You only made it past the Rangers on the last day too - -was it seven minutes from the end you scored then won a shootout?

(not that I'm grumbling)

I know the Flyers weren't supposed to be there, but that's what great about Stanley Cup hockey. When the chips are down, teams play their best hockey of the season.

Congrats to the Blackhawks for their first [ Lord] Stanley Cup since 1961.
As a Flyers fan, , I'm disappointed but they played very well down the stretch and made it an exciting series.

What you say- President Obama rooted for Chicago?-

Joe Biden rooted for the Flyers-
