ABBY SUNDERLAND

Oh no. Wasn't there a recent thread about Abby Sunderland, a 16 year old female who was trying to circumnavigate the globe? Maybe not......

Her emergency beacons went on and they haven't heard from her. They fear she has been lost. My prayers are with her family.

Oh, my! I just had my English students read about an article about Jessica Watson last week. They said their parents would never allow them to do anything like that. Their parents were right.

Why,why, why????? are parents so stoopid to let their kids go on trips like this. There was a 13 year old girl in Holland that wanted to circumnavigate the globe there a while back with the blessing of her parents . It was only stopped when the courts put on order that she wasn't allowed to leave the country. Well at least I think that was the reason :^(.

As a father, I could say I would never let my daughter do it, however close she might be to eighteen and finally coming to the point where I don't have a say. That being said, I can't imagine losing her either........

Well, it sounds like there are a number of safety measures in place, keep your fingers crossed.

That's despicable. Parents that use their children should be __________.....you can fill in the blank.
