I agree - love to see the full list. I actually heard one of these on NPR on my way to work today.

I think I've had patients try every one of these (and sometimes they even worked!).
Very enjoyable puzzle.

My mother once gave me a spoonful of sugar with kerosene in it for a sore throat. I didn't put that in because I was afraid that no one would believe it. I don't know WHY it has to be Colgate toothpaste either but I CAN attest to the fact that it really helps.
I stick with whatever works. Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Are you on NPR, or is the morning correspondent on Sploofus? This morning I heard the sugar and kerosene (brown sugar, btw) and toothpaste for pimples remedies both mentioned.

Yes, some of these remedies work and cost a fraction of buying a commercial product at the store,
I was doing pretty well but during my third puzzle, I started hiccuping which distracted me; and then I think a chigger bit me and the itching was horrible,
I lost my concentration and filled in more and more letters just to speed things up.
By the last puzzle, my stomach felt queasy, and I hurriedly solved it and logged off Sploofus. I just felt I had to run.

So thanks Marsha for a great puzzle which should provide comfort to many of us in the future.
I'm feeling better now anyway. I don't usually eat two bananas in one day.
