I am debating on switching from comcast to Dish network. Can anyone tell me if they have dish, and if they like it?

Hiya, Frick. Or are you Frack? So hard to tell us apart even I'm not sure sometimes.

I've still got all Comcast, TV, net and phone, but that's about to change, currently researching options, let you know when we figure out the best way for us to go, which may not even be options where you are. Iffy about Direct, had issues with them making me pay when the satellite moved.

I like my Dish Network, but see cheaper prices advertised than what I am paying. I need to contact them to get my deal renegotiated - plus I was in way before the DVR thing, so I need to get one of those too. But I have been very happy with their service and support.

I went with Direct because they were cheaper than Dish. Been very pleased. My son was with Comcast......he did not care for it. He has everything (phone, computer, tv ) with AT&T now and likes that real well also. Comcast could certainly vary from area to area. Around here though, it is not that great.

I sent Goddess my personal opinions about corporate lawbreakers.

We had Comcast for years, both TV and internet. I finally got totally fed up with them and changed everything to Verizon.

We thought about Dish and DirectTV, but wouldn't be able to get a local cable-only new channel we like and some other local things. Plus satellite doesn't have local forecasts on the weather channel.

And since we were going to get internet from Verizon anyway, we just went the whole way. Turned out to be a very good move.

Thanks for the replies. Suzer, I don't know what I would do without my DVR. I never had one til last year, now I MUST HAVE IT! I am thinking I will stay put for now since the internet is not available through dish yet. Again, thanks.

I'm with you on the DVR, we are so used to it we can't watch "live" tv anymore. Just bought a SECOND DVR and put it in series with the cable DVR to get more space...
Happy fast forwarding thru the ads,

I switched to A T & T U-verse about 3 years ago. It's kinda fabulous! Would NEVER go back to either. Comcast's service sucks beyond belief and the dish thingy goes out all the time.

If U-Verse is in your area, I can't recommend it highly enough...

I like Time Warner. I have Internet, digital cable and DVR on two TV's, phone with unlimited long distance, all the extras, such as call waiting, unlisted number, etc. for $160.00 per month. I also like the movies on demand, much cheaper than renting and I don't forget to take the movies back on time! New releases are $3.99 and I can pause, ff,rw, and stop if I need to find a snack or use the bathroom! Works great for me, as I do NOT like theaters.
