Welcome to the November Community Quiz Challenge.

This month's category is pulled from our previous topic discussions...AWARDS/AWARD WINNERS

You may start writing immediately. You can launch your quiz when it is finished. When you launch it, post a note to the "I Have Launched an November CQ". The cutoff date for submitting quizzes is October 29th. Launch is anticipated to be the afternoon November 1st.

Quiz name must be: -- The (Your name) Award Quiz -- (mine = The Tuzilla Award Quiz)

Your Quiz Description MUST use the following standard information --

Welcome to the 5th edition of the Community Quiz Challenge...Awards/Award Winners.

Quiz authors taking part in this game created "Award" quizzes. All of them appear in the 'Community Quizzes' category. No one knows what the others will come up with, so it is a game for both authors and quiz takers. You are encouraged to take all of the quizzes in this group, compare them, rate them and send comments to the authors.

(Place personal information about your quiz here)

-- STANDARD CHALLENGE QUIZ RULES 1.2 -- (slightly amended)

These are the rules that apply to every Community Quiz (CQ).

1. All normal Sploofus (SQAG) quiz-writing rules to apply.

2. All quizzes must be exactly 10 questions in length.

3. Only one CQ per author per event.

4. No Fill-In-The-Blank or Kids quizzes.

5. Quizzes must be submitted within the announced submission window.

6. Quizzes must be named as described in the event announcement

7. Quizzes must contain the common quiz description.

8. The interpretation of each CQ topic is entirely up to you, but it is still subject to the review Sploofus editors and must be able to pass the "reasonable person" test when it comes to being germane and meeting "Family Friendly" standards. But it helps if you remember that the more general and international it is, the more quiz-takers and points you'll get! Any specialist/regional restriction should be stated in the part of the quiz description for you personal description of your quiz.

9. Have fun

In taking the quizzes of the other Community Challenges I find that some people do not adequately prepare the quiz taker...

Please please PLEASE add informative material to your quiz descriptions (and a picture!). I will be lost if I have my brain ready for a quiz about Oscar winning movies and open a quiz about Nobel Peace Prizes!

I was getting ready to write mine and titled it, but the new category is not up for you to click on as of a few minutes ago. I wrote Steve and asked him, but haven't heard back yet. So right now, I'm just holding up 'til I find out.

If you're going to Nashville to the Music Awards, I know you're going to have fun, and if your quiz is about what I think it is, I know I'll like it. Guess I'll have to watch them on TV. Have fun!!!

A funky question: Could this title be "Ummagumma's awards for weirdest shoes of the year" (as an example - not an actual project). Or does it have to be some officially recognized like "the Grammy's of 1969" or something like that ?

It's just my opinion, but I say it entirely up to you. I think the takers will be the judges. One of the music quizzes was about air guitar.

Isn't this the 4th Community Quiz?

Also, there's no category for it among the quiz selections...only the first three appear in the drop down menu.

Just a couple of observations...thanks

Suggest Mystic & Allena look at the post above!

Why is "awards/award winners" not listed under community quizzes yet?

As the announcement a few posts above, Tuzilla and I are still awaiting Sploofus management to fix it.
No problems - just all write your quizzes but don't launch until we show here that you can enter your correct new category.
No-one's going to miss out!

This is cutting it a bit fine, isn't it? It's only a few days to the "cut-off" date and we still don't have the correct category available in order to launch our quizzes!

No panic. Cut-off dates can be re-arranged. We do need to wait on Sploofus management.

All we need is the appropriate wording for the Category.

I misread and thought we were suppossed to launch with it under another category name so mine is launched with a different category.. i dont think too well when I first wake up.. nicole

I think you can put a note to the Editor in Details to hold it or send it back to you so it won;'t go live in the category you selected.

Raven- I think you can go back in and change the category; the only thing I found once you launch is being unable to change the questions themselves. Teresa

The problem with changing the category is that we still don't have the right one to put it in yet. Any idea, Tuz, Sur, or Editors, when that might happen, or are you too swamped with regular new quizzes?

We are as stuck as you are waiting for the category to appear.

I noticed that the category is up and I have launched mine.
